B is for Butter
Yellow like the Sunshine.
Have you ever had Homemade butter? Well, you can make some and it is
really easy.
You will need:
small jar
1/2 cup of Heavy Whipping Cream (found in the Dairy section of your grocery store)
piece of cheese cloth

Pour the Whipping cream into the jar, seal lid tight. Now you can either take turns shaking the jar until butter forms or you can really have fun and form a circle on the floor and roll it back and forth until the butter forms. While doing this lets sing some fun songs to make the time go faster.
Here are some good songs to sing:
ABCD EFG HIJK LMNOP QRS TUV WX Y Z.
Now I said my ABC's next time won't you sing with me?
or how about this one....*as you roll your jar/can back and forth you can sing **

ROW, ROW, ROW, YOUR BOAT,
GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM,
MERRILY, MERRILY, MERRILY, MERRILY,
LIFE IS BUT A DREAM.
I am sure you will have a few favorites of your own too. What is your favorite song to sing?

Now I bet your butter is probably a bit lumpy. If so, all you have to do is place your cheese cloth in a bowl and pour the contents of the jar into the cheese cloth. Now gather up the ends and twist so that you wring out all the remaining fluid from the butter. Now you can roll the butter into a log, wrap it in plastic wrap and put in the refigerator, chill at least one hour, cut into coins and serve. (* If your butter does not seem firm enough after wringing out the fluid, you can chill first then follow the instructions above).

Try a Butter and Jelly sandwich~ it is Laura and Mary's favorite.
