Stand Tall (September 11, 2001) ~ Never Forget

That dark day you so knowingly created,
         stabbed the hearts of millions.
America will never be the same, but you did not succeed.
You have not created victims.
You have not broken our spirits.
You have created a nation more unified,
         and more proud than ever.
Thinking you would weaken this great country,
         only to see it strengthen.

The morning of September 11, you thanked a god that is deaf to your words,
And he merely laughed at you, knowing what you had truly accomplished.
Today you hide in shadows, and run like scurring rodents,
         because we now stand together as never before.
You destroyed the idols of our faith,
         and only now do you see the true source of it.
I am proud of America.
Proud to be American.
This country will not hide in fear, or crumble in the face of terror.
We stand tall, and unwavering.
