Uncommon Courtesy

A simple thank you,
Or excuse me would do.
Used to be common courtesy,
Now limited to Southern hospitality,
But they act like it's going to steal their vitality.
When did we get so rude?
When did people stop being polite?
How did they get the right?
The right to step on my shoes
Without a single word of apologetic news.
It's become such an uncommon courtesy.
