My Mother and I have been raising rabbits since 1996. We started out with just a couple of mutt rabbits to use for meat breeding.  I got involved in 4-H and wanted to do the rabbit project and that is what got me started with showing and breeding pedigreed rabbits.  I have been a member of 4-H for 8 years and have been the top 4-H rabbit showman for 5 years running. I also do several other 4-H projects.  Mom and I got our county's 4-H market rabbit project started up again a couple of years back and have encouraged other kids to raise and sell a rabbit meat pen.   My family lives on a little hill in Idaho with a very nice view of the Pend Oreille River. I have 2 older and 2 younger brothers (making me the only daughter) and hence have grown up being "one of the guys".  Of my favorite activites are hunting, horseback riding, playing with anything with a motor or engine (trucks, bikes, snowmobiles, chainsaws etc.) and just being outside doing something (firewooding is great). We have dogs and cats, I have fish, and every once and a while we end up with some other animal (domestic or wild).

This is my dog Lexi.  She is a Border Collie/Golden Retriever cross that I adopted from a shelter. Who passed away Dec.23 2004

My mom and I are very involved with dogs. My family raises hearing dog puppies for Dogs for the Deaf.  We have the puppies for a year and then they go down to Oregon to the school for their formal signal training where they are taught to signal deaf or hearing impaired people to sounds.  We both have our own dogs.  I do 4-H, obedience, agility and hunting with Lexi plus she also enjoys pulling a sled or wagon full of little kids and gets harnessed up to any other object that she can haul around to help out with chores (one of her favorites is dragging the christmas tree home). In my spare time I play around with teaching Lexi fun tricks as well as practical or usefull tricks (such as, "bring it", which is whatever I point at and, "close the door", for when my hands are full or I dont feel like getting up to close it behind a family member).

I also took Lexi to LA, California to be on the TV show "PetStar" on Animal Planet.  Show Aired at Feburary 7th, 2005 at 8pm.
