Since most of you were unlikely to have been in Valdosta, GA during the summer of 1999, I am bringing you text and pictures of an exhibit which I mounted in the library where I work. It consists of items from my collection with a narrative interpretation about different aspects and periods of Princess Diana's life represented by the books and memorabilia.
 
 

With the exceptions of the birth of Prince William on June 21, 1982 and the birth of Prince Harry on September 15, 1984, many significant events of Princess Diana’s life occurred during the months of July and August.

                August 1980 Romance with Prince Charles begins
                July 29, 1981 Married to Prince Charles at St. Paul’s Cathedral
                July 15, 1996  Stripped of the title Her Royal Highness by
                        Queen Elizabeth II
                July 15, 1996   Nisi decree of her divorce
                July 16, 1996  Resigns patronage of 100 of her charities
                August 28, 1996  Final decree of her divorce
                July 1997  Romance with Dodi Al-Fayed begins
                August 31, 1997 Dies at La Pitie Salpetriere Hospital, Paris

The exhibit was arranged in three cases. To view in order from left to right, click on the three case numbers below in numerical order. The first picture you will see is a picture of the entire case, then you will get a placard referring to a shelf first, followed by images from that shelf.
