Welcome to Highlander Collies.
Our farm is constantly growing and changing, and this site is just a bit about us
and our furry kids!

We've had Collies since 1990 and finally got our first Smooth right after the Nationals in California in 2002.  "Bailey" entered our lives (who I got to practice with in the show ring as a Veteran), then a blue merle rescue named, Destiny, and we knew that Smooths would have the domain.  The next Smoothie we got was Duncan (CH. Highlander's Chieftain MacLeod, HCT, HIC, HT), & he was my serious entry into the show world.  Many thanks to MonaRay Collies in TN as the co-breeder and owner/breeder of his dam.  Monica has been a wonderful source of incredible information and has set the bar for achieving not only beauty in conformation, but preserving working ability and striving for only the utmost in health with normal eyes and excellent hip ratings, to name but a few factors to consider in a working breed.

We also have had Old English Sheepdogs,
and Harriers, with only 1 left now, Heidi.
How many people have asked us about our "Giant Beagle" only to discover there is a breed called the Harrier.  We also had our Sheltie, Ashley from 1989-November 2003, and although she definitely challenged us, we treasure her memories so much.

Our newest additions are Tristan (Reflexions of Mareh Highlander, HIC) and Sarah (Jola's Reflexion In Time, HIC, HCT).  Tristan is a handsome Sable Merle Smooth and Sarah is a sweet, pretty little Blue Merle Smooth.

Horses, both  Miniature and full size have taken residence here, along with our  cats and chickens and now even sheep!  It keeps the Collies entertained!

We breed for health and temperment first, because without that, conformation means nothing.  The herding instinct is also a very important aspect kept in consideration in all we do.  We must remember what the Collie was originally bred to do!
