The Rules / Things You Need to Know

*You are alive ... until you lose your head. That is the only rule you HAVE to live by.

Basic Synapsis of Game

Here is the basics of how the game will run. When the game starts, all immortals who will take place in the game will move to the city named Tulumbar, Virginia. There will be a second city which to this point is unnamed. It is expected to be some place in England, however. You will move to one of these places with basic stuff (Clothes, some possesions, a car) and you will also start off with $10,000 cash. You will need to find some sort of income because your money will run down fast. You will also need a place to sleep. You are basically starting a new life up during the Gathering.

You will have a web page that I create for you with your status. It will have your current living address, how much money you have (both in your wallet and your bank account and all), friends you can contact, your work schedule (assuming you have a job), just about all that sort of info and you will need to manage. I anticipate having a lot of people playing so you will have to manage your money and property, I won't do it. I'll take your money when you spend it and do as you request, I won't play for you.

Everyone will start off of equal power. If you have a 4,000 year old immortal who knows 800 languages and 300 martial arts, you can still just as easily be killed by a 19 year old immortal in the beginning as a 8,000 year old immortal. Don't think just because you spiced your immortal up in every way in the application that your going to have a huge advantage on everyone. This is so everyone can have fun and create realistic characters and everyone won't be competing to see who can create the coolest Terminator. This game was made very strictly for my entertainment as well as yours.

*Once a week I will post an update for your character on your personal web page that I create for you. If you choose to go to a place during the week and another immortal is there at the same time, I will send both of you emails notifying you that you have sensed another immortal and both of you will tell me what you wish to do about it. You guys can fight, you can talk and be friends, plan out a fight / meeting place for another time or whatever you want to do.

Updates

*You must send me some sort of plans once a week.

THINGS YOU NEED TO TELL ME
-You must tell me what you want to do with your life in that week.
-Where do you plan on eating during the week?
-Do you need to have work done on your car?
-Are you going shopping for any reasons? (Groceries, food or casual shopping)
-Where are you going to hang out?
-Do you plan on attending work or school or whichever at all scheduled times.
-Most importantly you need to tell me when you are going to these places, what your going to do about your sword. If you work at a grocery store, you can't bag groceries and have your sword on you at the same time. So what will you do? Let me know all that kind of things.
-Are you going to try to better relationships with certain people?
-Everything else that is important that I didn't think to name.

If you have more questions about this stuff, email me.

Rules

*You cannot use other people in your story without their permission.
*You do not tell me what happens in your weekly update, you simply tell me how and what you would like to do during the week. Maybe some goals you'd like to work towards. You also should tell me what your going to do about your sword situation every place you wish to go.
*You can try anything you want to, but you can also be thrown in jail or beaten up or anything because of your actions, so think before you try something. If you are a convicted murderer, even if you escape out of jail, most people who watch the news will recognize you. Be careful.

The Game

*During the game, you will tell me the places and their #s that you wish to go to. On the city map, every single place will be labeled with a number. You need to let me know where you want to go and when.
*In this game I am playing by the original movie rules. You can NOT "die" like you do in the Television series. You can be rendered helpless, but a gun shot will not make an immortal "die" long enough for you to take their heads. I would like a change from TV series rules, plus this helps protect game players from being shot and killed by a cheap immortal/game player.
*You can NOT drown. You breath underwater just like Connor did in Highlander. If you have not received your mortal wound yet, you do not breath under water.
*If you are pre-immortal, you do sense other immortals and they do sense you.
*Pre-immortals still grow.
*You can NOT have children at any point in time, even before your immortality is started.
*You sense another immortal from approximatly 20-30 feet away.
*Body parts DO NOT grow back.
*Quickenings last longer, depending on the power of the immortal.

Fighting

*Fighting will be a contest between two immortals to the death. All immortals will have attribute levels that will contribute to who wins a fight. I have a long and drawn out way that I will decide winners through a system of strategy and dice roll. In a fight the two immortals will send me a basic strategy of their plan of offense and defense. I will look at the abilities overrall of the two immortals and base the strategy they both used and give both characters a percentage (again based on strategy and attribute points) and I will roll the die to see who lives and who dies. This way everyone has a fair chance to win. I have purchased a 100 sided die. When, for example, an immortal is given 55% chance to win, he will win if a 1-55 is rolled. If a 56-100 is rolled, his opponent will win. I roll the dice three times and get three numbers. I get an average of those three dice rolls and that is the number that I use in determining the winner. I also have the ability to cause a "Draw." These will typically occur when and if you are fighting in a place that I think would cause a break up in the fight. Also in that 1-55 dice roll, there will be a certain set of numbers that will result in a break up of the fight. For example, I will still say a 1-55 dice roll will result in immortal A winning the fight, but if the dice roll is between 45-55, it will result in the fighting ending without a be-heading, but Immortal A will still be the better man in the fight. If I do that, 56-65 will also result in a draw with Immortal B winning, but not taking Immortal A's head.

Strategizing

Strategies are VERY VERY important. It can make the difference in whether you have an 80% chance to win the fight or a 20% chance to win the fight. Below I have created a couple of sample strategies. These are very basic but it gives you the idea of what I expect.

Here is an example, keep in mind this is very brief. Your strategy should be much longer because this is a fight to the death. Only one of you will survive this. The first strategy would be smarter for a larger immortal to use against a smaller immortal. Just as a side note, once an immortal kills another immortal, his stats gain. However, his stats will basically be stronger where he originally was. A HUGE immortal's strengths are always going to be his size, no matter how much quicker he gets. A smaller immortal's strengths are always going to be his speed, agility & stamina. Just keep in mind just because he's bigger than you doesn't ALWAYS mean they are going to be slower than you, they just typically are if the powers of the two immortals are close to being even. Anyhow, these are the samples.

STRATEGY:

My immortal is a larger immortal, so I have a few advantages and a few disadvantages I'm going to have to work with. First of all, I'm stronger so I obviously have to use my strength to my advantage. However, I know my weekness is my lack of speed, agility and stamina. I expect my opponent to know this as well. I will avoid using up too much energy with worthless attacks. I will attack when there is a chance, and only then. When I attack I will not let up. Not unless my attacks are seemingly unsuccessful nor am I making any progress.

I will try to intimidate the smaller immortal with my size. I will WAIT for them to come in close then I will try to trap them. I will also try to back up the smaller immortal against the wall so I can force him into close quarters. I know that as long as he has a distance, his safe from me, so I will try to back him up to the wall or the corner. This way I can conserve more energy. This fight can't last a long time because I'm shorter on stamina, but I will not back myself into a corner trying too hard to end it quickly. By trying to end it too fast, I could pointlessly use up all of my stamina by attacking too often.

I know that the quicker immortal is going to be hard to hit, so I will be waiting and ready to hit the "One Big Move." If I can get the immortal in close quarters and I'm unable to steal their weapon from their hand, I will try to grapple then and fight on the ground. Being bigger, I should be able to roll the smaller immortal on their back and I may attempt to knock them dizzy by using many rapid and powerful punches to them, any place I can get an opening, mostly aiming for the head. If I can successfuly get them down, I will cut them down as quickly as possible, not wasting any time in finishing them off. I will not taunt them, but take the head and taunt their corpse. That way I can make sure I win.

Other Notes:
*I will try grappling when possible
*I will try to keep us close
*If I lose a hand, arm, leg, etc. I will cut my loses (no pun intended) and get the hell out of there.
*If I am down, I will beg for my life. I would rather live than die (even if it makes me look bad)
OR
*If I am down, I will not beg for my life. I would rather die in honor than live in shame.
*If my opponent is cut down and begs for his/her life, I will laugh and chop their head off anyhow
OR
*If my opponent is cut down and begs for their life, I will spare them.

That's a basic plan for a bigger immortal.

This is a strategy that would be smarter for a smaller immortal to use against a bigger immortal.

STRATEGY:

My guy is much smaller so I do not expect to be able to win this fight going toe to toe in strength with him. I will use my speed and my agility to my advantage. I will also try to out last him because I am sure my stamina is better than his.

Idea #1: I might try to make him swing a whole lot so that he can tire himself out. My agility (ability to move my body quickly) should be higher than his as well so I would try to dodge his attacks. He is attacking me very violently so I am thinking he will be swinging with slightly less accuracy than normal. I will dodge his blows and counter attack. Once I have worn my opponent down some, I shall then use my speed to my advantage and also use the fact that I have worn him down to my advantage. I will try to immobilize him by taking out his legs first, then his arms and then his head. He will be able to take a lot of hits because he is bigger, so I'll attempt to cut him down and then take the head. I will not talk a lot of crap and I will not take my time, but I will get the kill as quickly as possible.

Idea #2: If his attacks are more successful than I had planned, I will then switch my offensive plans and be more aggressive trying to use my speed to overcome him. Again, my plan of attack will be to cut him down enstead of looking for "one big move." I will take my time in this fight as my stamina should be higher.

Other Notes:
*I will avoid grappling from the bigger man.
*I will keep my distance from him again, staying out of grappling distance
*If I lose a hand, arm, leg, etc. I will cut my loses (no pun intended) and get the hell out of there. *If I am down, I will beg for my life. I would rather live than die (even if it makes me look bad) OR
*If I am down, I will not beg for my life. I would rather die in honor than live in shame.
*If my opponent is cut down and begs for his/her life, I will laugh and chop their head off anyhow
OR
*If my opponent is cut down and begs for their life, I will spare them.

The Rules in the Game

One of the many questions in a game like this is "Are you playing by TV Series or Movie rules?" Well the answer to the game is neither. I'm mostly playing by the Original Movie rules however. Below I will list many of the things people should know (and would know being immortals).

*When you are stabbed, shot, etc. you do NOT actually render "Dead" but you are immobalized for the most part. Ala Original Movie Rules.
*Your cuts heel pretty quickly. Movie & TV Rules.
*The point in time when you 'sense' another immortal is random but you will be within a range of 10 to 100 feet. Again, its random.
*When you are immobilized by another immortal's attack or any type of physical attack, you heel pretty quickly. You will stay down for a maximum of 5 minutes.
*You cannot ever have kids if you are supposed to be immortal. You cannot have kids even before you receive your mortal wound. You shoot blanks for your entire life spand. Original Movie & TV Series rules (not playing by "Highlander: Endgame" rules.)
*If you are cut with a weapon to a point where you realistically could not live (For example say you are cut in half at the waist or in half from head to crotch) you will remain dead until someone actually cuts your spinal chord and removes your head.
*It is still unknown what would happen if someone is be-headed on Holy Ground. TV Series rules, again, not "Highlander: Endgame" rules where nothing happens except people say your evil.
*Watchers do exist however 99% of immortals don't know that. TV Series rules.
*When the Gathering actually started (Whenever I choose to start the 2nd game) no more immortals were profosized to be born. Whether this is 100% sure is not know, but its said that at that point nobody else will be born.
*An immortal cannot drown. Movie rules.
