HISTORY:
In the early 1820's Henry Blount purchased the parcel of land that is now the Slyvan Gold Course and built a sprawling two-story home.  He and his wife, Elizabeth, raised seven children in this home.  Two of the Blount's grandsons, Harry and Frank, continued to farm the land after his death.  Descendants of the Blount family continued to live in the home until May 13, 1924 when the home and land were sold to develop the golf course.  Previous establishments include: The Double Eagle, The Wooden Horse and Shark Creek Inn.  The former Blount family home has been home to Camp Ticonderoga since 1996.

Legend has been passed on through employees of the various restaurants that have occupied the Blount House.  Supposedly, Hannah hung herself in one of the upstairs bedrooms and now haunts the former home's inhabitants.  Learn more of the restaurant by visiting

Claims of an unknown presence riding the elevator...
We found that the older elevator does not come to a complete stop when reaching destination.  You are able to open the door to exit and enter but it takes a while on occation to settle completely.  This is when a "ding" may occur, appearing as someone playing with the elevator without a presence there. We believe this to be a natural cause.

Claims of lighting problems in office area...
With the way described, only a few lights dimming/burning out in a particular pattern, it appears there may be an electrical problem regarding the wiring.  We believe this to be a natural cause.
