Probably the most famous ex-Inverness 47 around at the moment, having recently had the white stags applied to its sides and miniture stags below the drivers window.  It was also the last 47 to work the sleeper before the 67s took over. Coinsidence???  Hmmm. A scottish loco that has spent very few years of its long life south of the border.  Due to its history 791 is an ideal candidate for preservation.  It has had several bits and bobs added to it recently.  See Link above.  One can only wonder where the yellow stags came from...  It is now stored WNXX at Saltley TMD having been swtiched off with dodgy Traction Motors, or so they say!

Right: During the latter parts of 2001 and early January 2002, 791 spent a considerable amount of time recieving a new engine from 47348.  Just out of Toton, 47791 is seen at Peterborough on the 30th January 2002.  Photo by Ryan Tranmer.
