The Class of '72 was created in the 1969-70 school
term, when tenth grades from Tarentum, Wood Street and Natrona Heights
Junior Highs were combined in the Intermediate building. Though in our
earliest school years we had attended many elementary schools, and we came
from varied neighborhoods, we spent our sophomore, junior and senior years
becoming one student body. In those last three years, we went to classes,
football games, basketball games, the proms and had finals, but we also
met new friends, and cemented those friendships; produced a class play
each year; tackled tough issues of the time, such as pollution and the
environment; and successfully sought change in school policy: permission
for girls to wear slacks, and a new student lounge. Our final days of high
school were hectic, with homework, tests and research projects due. We
thought that we would never make it until graduation...
May 24, 2007 marks 35 years since that day when 546
members of the Class of 72 marched, in cap and gown, through Har-Brack
Stadium, to receive our diplomas. This web site is dedicated to those of
us who feel "that a lifetime's not too long to live as friends."
