"The key to unlocking the door to our future opens with a journey into the past."

Robert Burtt & Bill Main

The world of 1954 into which most of us were born was, of course, not the same world we knew as we prepared to be graduated from Highlands Senior High in 1972. The world (and our country) had changed much in those brief 18 years, and the 30 years since our graduation has seen even more change. Today as we rush from home to work, to dinner, and various activities, never far from a cell phone or laptop, it's hard to remember that in the mid-50's, black and white TV was the latest technology, shopping malls did not exist, and we had yet to see space travel as a reality. In 1972, we were all just  getting our first color television, FM radio was in it's infancy, and we had just seen a man land on the moon only 3 years before. As we stand on the threshold of not only a new decade, (we've already seen a few of those!) but of a new century and a new Millennium, let's take a minute now to step back and reflect on the world that greeted us as babies, and the world we stepped into as young adults.
