How do you complain about an M.P. ?

In the first instance you can complain to the local constituency association, however this is usually the same office as that of the MPs secretary and letters can get "lost".

You can complain to the local Party Offices, but you may be met by a "brick wall"" response.

You can complain to the Parliamentary Whips office, but that may have little effect either.

You can then complain to the Head Office of, in this case, The Labour Party, but nothing very much can happen unless Labour Party Laws have been broken.

Then again to which "Labour Party" does Alistair actually belong? Nobody is very sure it would seem from the authors inquiries. Basically there are SIX different "Labour" Parties, as far as I can see that send M.P.s to the Palace of Westminster.

1. The New Labour Party of Old Queen Street, London.(formerly Millbank Tower).

2. The New Labour Party of John Smith House,

in Glasgow. (formerly Keir Hardie House).

3. The New Welsh Labour Party.

4. The SDLP of Ulster.

5. The CO-OP Labour Party

6. The Original Labour Party.

There may be others I did not mention, but these all all "seperate" entities, and many M.P.s are "sponsored" by Trade Unions, forbye. You can waste weeks/months complaing to the "wrong" Labour Party. Please remember to ask YOUR M.P. just which "Labour Party", exactly is he a member of; and just which Trade Union ( if any ) he is sponsored by. Of course then you will know who to complain to, but also be aware of the following stark fact. Your M.P. may be reluctant to reveal those facts to you, because he will realise the danger of his own position.

Ultimately you can complain to the Prime Minister, but he of course is too busy with great matters of State, and has little time to deal with corruption or incompetance at a local level.

So it is up to your MP., in the words of The Rt.Hon.Tony Blair PM. MP.,"......to investigate matters of corruption and/or incompetance , when these are brought to his attention by constituents.....".

However it would seem that within certain bounds, your MP. is free to do as HE wishes and is free to ignore the pleas of his constituents, should he choose, knowing full well that he is beyond reproach, by anyone in his party, and he may hope that by the time of the next election any such incidents would be well forgotten.

Alistair Darling was told of suspected incompetance or corruption, several years ago, and to date he has done absolutely nothing to investigate the matter, except to continually badger the author for more and more details.

All this despite the fact that FULL details of those involved in the incidents, together with dates and times, and damages caused, etc.had been given both verbally and in writing on a number of occasions.

Since then, certain other alleged matters of impropriety and illegal infringements of benefit claimants rights have been reported to Mr.Darling also, but to date he has failed to investigate the highly suspicious goings-on in the DSS department offices in Blackpool. That is the office which deals with payments to the most vulnerable and disabled members of our society. Also elsewhere, even in his own department at Westminster, where the Chief Civil Servant, cannot account for how enormous sums of cash are spent, and where the staff GAMBLE on the stockmarket with PUBLIC funds which are earmarked for benefits and pensions that are, in many cases, never paid out to their rightful recipients. As a result many of them, who are affected in this way, actually DIE. They die a slow and tortuous, inhumane death, which amounts to a serious and GROSS VIOLATION of European and International Human Rights Treaties and even Statute Laws of the UK.

Foreign Despots who indulge in such behaviour are to be despised, chagrined, loathed, and severely punished, even unto exertion of lethal forces, but when Members of our own Government are resposible for such acts, then they are to have false praise heaped upon them. Degraded Gold Medal Awards, and bogus Doctorates, phoney Diplomas and the like. They demand and require the sense of hollow satisfaction which they gain from that illusionary type of self gratification.

SO BEWARE your local MP. is accountable to no-one, except you, the electorate, every four or five years or so. There is no way to actually force him to carry out policy statements made by Senior Party Figures, and indeed it would seem that many MPs put the interests of thier own political careers before the interests of the constituents who elected them in the first place.Make your feelings known at ANY ELECTION.

For "Legal Reasons", meantime, the "Reader's Comments Page" is OFFLINE, sorry.

We await a decision, by the USA Supreme Court which will hopefully have the effect of setting a precedent which will apply in our own case, and many others. As soon as we became aware of this case, we did remove the "Reader's Comments Page" to avoid any actions, should that case at the USA Supreme Court fall on the "wrong" side. We are confident however that the First Amendment of the USA constitution will apply to solicited, and unsolicted comments alike, and that the comments of Readers may be regarded as Editorial Copy, once it is actually published "live" on an Internet Website, which is hosted within USA Territory. <sic>
