It was pouring down rain as Haldir and I walked back to Caras Galadhon. We had gone to sit beside the Celebrant, bringing some mead and some fruits to enjoy.
We had my blanket over our heads, and our arms were wrapped around each other to gain the protection of the cloth. For some insane reason, we could not stop our laughter. Our laughter rang clearly through the meadows, echoing against the trees.
Without thought, we ended up coming towards my talan. It was always lonely now since my father had sailed back to Valinor after the War of the Last Alliance. He could find no peace here, and so went to be with my mother.
I stayed… for I find much love in this land.
I was pulled out of my thoughts by an arm that pulled me back against a warm body in the cold rain. I closed my eyes and sighed as I felt his arms wrap around my waist, his face nestled in my neck.
He nuzzled my neck and my hand trembled, dropping the blanket from over our heads. His lips brushed a path from my shoulder to my ear before he placed a delicate kiss upon them.
My breathing came in soft gasps; one of his hands came up to softly cup my face, while the other stayed splayed upon my upper stomach.
“Haldir,” I breathed softly as I turned in his arms, wrapping my own around his neck. Water trailed down our faces, plastering some of our hair on our face. With trembling fingers I brushed his wet hair out of his face, cupping his cheek in my palm.
His midnight blue eyes had lightened so that they seamed like the deep ocean. His thumb gently caressed my cheek, and I closed my eyes, leaning into that touch.
He spoke not a word, and I opened my eyes when his hand left my cheek, trailing his fingers down my neck to settle above my breast where my heart beat. His fingers touched my skin through the part in the gown, while his other curled around the curve of my waist, gently holding me close.
“Lle naa vanima…” he whispered before he leaned forward, his lips catching mine in a delicate kiss.
One of my hands cupped his cheek, my fingers stroking his cool flesh, while the other tangled in the wet hair.
Neither one of us was bothered by the fact that rain poured down around us, drenching us, and sliding down our skins. The blanket lay forgotten at our feet, as did my basket that held my mead.
I sighed into his mouth when he pulled back slightly from the kiss, and my eyes fluttered open to lock with his.
The backs of his fingers brushed against my cheek before slipping around to cup the back of my head. “Vendea…”
I pressed my fingertips against his lips, and smiled, tears in my eyes. “Amin sinta...” I pulled away, casting my gaze to the ground as a blush settled on my cheeks. “Amin autien rath… Tula… khila amin… Manka lle merna…”
He pulled me back against him with a soft smile. “Seasamin…”
I know my face was red; it’s burning cooled by the cold rain as I pulled up the hem of my gown and I lead him towards my own talan.
The rain cooled my heated skin as we finished our walk to the far outskirts of Caras Galadhon. I liked to be away from people, and my father was the same way. The small talan sat high up in the tree with gently winding stairs leading up towards it.
We mounted the stairs with no noise, quietly walking all the way to the near top of the Mellorn tree.
Nervously I pushed aside the gauze I had placed up as my door; as no one visited me save for Haldir and his brothers, so I had no need for unwanted guests.
I stood in the middle of the room, nervously plucking at the wet dressing gown. My face was red, my hands shaking as I waited for something to happen.
My ears picked up Haldir slipping off his boots before he walked towards the small room I used to store cloth.
I started when I felt a towel wrap around me, gently drying my skin that was not covered by the gown. I felt his head bend over my neck, gently brushing his lips against my neck, making me shudder.
“Tula… let me dry you, Lirimaer.” He smiled softly at me as I turned my head to face him. “I will not bite you.”
I laughed breathlessly as I turned in his arms, and with a smile caught one of his hands and brought it to my laced bodice. “I think you had best do this, for my hands tremble far too much.”
He laughed slightly. “And you think mine are not?” He let his fingers gently brush the swell of my breast as they rose and fell as I breathed. “Amin naa tualle…”
With that, he draped the towel over my shoulders as his hands gently tugged at the laces to my bodice, slipping the silver strands free.
I felt the tightness loosen, my eyes not moving from his as his fingers nimbly worked, and with a last gentle tug, the lace fell from his hands, falling upon the floor along with the bodice I wore.
His hands then slipped up to my shoulders, his fingers gently kneading them before he bent forward, catching my lips in a warm kiss.
I felt his hands slip over my shoulders, making the gown I wore slip off my body to fall into a puddle of wet silver at my feet.
His hands wrapped the towel around me, his lips still fastened to mine as we traded soft kisses. I felt his hands trembling as he held the towel in place, his fingers kneading my skin.
My fingers threaded through his wet hair, swiftly unbraiding it before they gently tugged on the laces of his shirt, loosening them so I could pull it over his head.
He pulled me close to him, his hands settling upon my waist as he tilted his head, his lips trailing kisses across my cheek. I felt his lips part, his teeth gently taking the curve of my ear in his mouth to nip, causing me to shudder in his arms.
I arched my neck back as I felt his soft lips trail down from my ear, gently biting my skin, making me tremble in his arms.
“Haldir!” I gasped as his lips trailed over the curve of my shoulder before kissing his way to the other side of my neck.
He pulled back, his hands gently cradling my face, as he seemed to commit it to memory.
“Amin mela lle…” he whispered before he kissed me. “Amin mela lle, Vendea…” He unbraided my hair, fanning the damp tresses out to flutter around my face. “I have always loved you… since I first saw the Lady of the Wood; I knew what my fate would be… that I would love you…”
My hand rose to gently caress his cheek with the backs of my fingers as I felt tears spill down my cheeks. “Amin sinta, Haldir.” I shook my head in amazement. “Somehow, I knew… Lady Galadriel told me that my future holds happiness… and no matter which future she saw, it was one of happiness…” My trembling fingertips traced his cheek. “You have owned my heart before I even knew you had it…”
“Vendea… will…” He took a breath, closing his eyes as he pulled forth two silver rings. “Will you consent to being bound to me?” He opened his eyes, and they were drowning deep blue, the color of the night sky that shimmered with stars.
I felt my tears drip off my chin and I smiled at him, tugging him down to kiss his supple lips. “Are we not already bound, A'maelamin?” I asked against his lips.
He laughed lightly, his hand slipping the silver ring over my ring finger of my left hand, and offered me his own to slip over his own hand.
After brushing my lips against his finger, I slipped the ring onto his finger.
“You know…” I whispered softly as he gathered me into his arms, pillowing my head upon his shoulder. “Once we say the words… we are wedded…?”
His hands threaded through my drying hair. “I wanted to make sure you would have no problems with me.”
I pulled back, laughing at his serious face. “Haldir, you should know I would never deny you anything.” I stepped back out of his arms and I let the towel fall to the floor at my feet beside my gown. I looked into his eyes, my face blushing lightly. “What you see is yours, and always has been.”
His left hand reached out, trembling, as he wrapped it around the curve of my waist, pulling me close to him. Haldir’s right hand gently rested against my neck, his thumb stroking the hollow of my throat before he removed it, sliding his fingertips down my chest, resting them over my heart.
“Amin harmuva onalle e’ cormamin…” he murmured before he bent his head, kissing me yet again as his hand trailed further down to hesitantly cup my right breast.
I trembled; moaning in pleasurably shock as his hand gently touched my breast. My hands clutched his arms as I fought to stay up right with his tongue gently lapping at my lips while his hand kneaded me. My head fell back when he pulled his lips away to trail kisses down my cheek, over my chin and down my throat.
While my back arched, I felt him pull back and suddenly, and I was swept up into his arms. I gasped, feeling his warm hands against my back and my thigh as he pivoted on his heel and walked into my sleeping room...
