Established

High Plains Cruisers (HPC) was established in the fall of 2002. The "Riding Group" was first formed with just three members; Larry, Eddie, and Mario. The three of them did not want the idea of a Motorcycle Club to interfere with the pleasure of riding their scooters. The fundamental reasoning for the "Riding Group" is to allow others with similar interests to join in when they want to without the pressure of politics and polices that bound "Motorcycle Clubs". This group vowed to never join the union/confederacy and to never place a rocker like patch work on their backs. They also believed in the voices of its members to be heard loudly and clearly by all and to never try to silence one for their way of life and their thoughts or beliefs. With this in mind High Plains Cruisers was born.

The Patch

The patch is that of the Mountains and rolling hills with High Plains Arched high over the mountains and Cruisers flat across the Bottom. The US Flag and State Flag are flown proudly above the words to show that we respect the colors of our country and state. The "Riding Groups" main color scheme is Black and Gold. This is to represent the miners and the mining that developed our great state. The snowy peaks are something that you are able to see most of the year and are a symbol of the Rocky Mountains.

The Mission

The High Plains Cruisers mission is "Lets Cruise". Our goal as a "Riding Group" is to promote fun and biking pleasure without rules and regulations that tie up most of the time in "Clubs". We are dedicated to riding free and supporting any cause that one or all members believe in. We ride in parades, poker runs, and charity events throughout the Greater Colorado area. If the event is a worthy one then we all or just some of us will ride in support of it. There is nothing that says we have to ride in "said" event and there is nothing that says you have to support this or that charity. The support you give is just that you giving it. This comes from personal belief and personal experiences, not from someone setting the rules for you participate.

The Rules

First of all there are no RULES. There are however simple curtsies that one should practice. Everyone has a voice and is allowed to speak their minds freely and openly about the 'Riding Group" and or the Rides in which we partake in. Attitude is generally not a welcome thing amongst the rest so please check it when you join up with others. When we ride in LARGE groups it is a good practice to know how things are going to be such as Stagger riding vs. single file, rooky riders in the group, and mostly hand signals if any to be used. Commonly used hand signals are that of Stopping, Left turn, Right turn, and dangerous obstacles. These are not mandatory rules these are things that make it safe for all to ride, do not be surprised to see them being used when you ride by yourself also. If you wish to have a rule we have only one "Lets Cruise and Have Fun".

The Meetings

Well High Plains Cruisers is not a formal group, therefore we have no per say meetings. The meetings if you wish to call them that consist of e-mails to each other, phone calls, and the social get together that happen throughout the season and year. The social get together is that of breakfast, lunch, or dinner and sometimes a night out on the town has been known to happen. We talk about anything and everything with the understanding that our view may not be that of the person setting next to us, therefore we are respectful of that.
