Of all the prophecies, none have captured the minds of the people like the ones of the French physician Michael Nostradamus. And of all the prophecies that he gave that have come true, the most frightening awaits us at the end of this year. Most of them speak of a global ruler who will wreak havoc with war, diseases, and famine.
The following are some that pertain to the coming year, along with many I believe are of interest to what has just taken place in our nation. The tragedy of terrorism was seen by the prophet. Terrorism was seen by the prophet centuries before we would label it. He even named the terrorist as the "King of Terror". In these prophecies we trace the rise of Islam, its effects upon our world and the extreme groups who would use terrorism to destroy civilization as we know it. Are we about to enter a new "Dark Age"? Is there hope for humanity through it all?
There is no longer time to wait, they are upon us. The great "King of Terror", "Mabus" and the "Third Antichrist" to name a few below. I will try to give my interpretation based upon other interpretations as well as how they relate to Bible prophecy, and especially how they will relate to the twenty first century before us.
Century I, Quatrain 15
Mars threatens us with the
force of war and will cause
blood to be spilt seventy times.
The clergy will be both exalted
And reviled moreover, by those
who wish to learn nothing of them.
On June 21 2001, Mars will be at its closest distance from Earth since 1988, a mere 67.3 million kilometers (approximately 42 million miles). All summer long, Mars will be brighter than usual, particularly for sky-watchers in the southern United States and those in the Southern Hemisphere.
Mars (Greek: Ares) is the god of War. The planet probably got this name due to its red color; Mars is sometimes referred to as the Red Planet. (An interesting side note: the Roman god Mars was a god of agriculture before becoming associated with the Greek Ares; those in favor of colonizing and terra-forming Mars may prefer this symbolism.) The name of the month March derives from Mars.
The omen of comets, planetary alignments, and astrological signs play an important role in Nostradamus' predictions. He says, when Mars is close we can be ready for war and calamity. Seventy times is a Biblical saying. Jesus said that we are to forgive seventy times seven. There is seven years of tribulation according to the apocalypse. Daniel predicted seventy weeks to make atonement for the sins of his people.
Religion in general is in for a rocky road in the next few years. As we move out of the Age of Pisces into the Age of Aquarius we will see less support for religion, especially Christianity, and more disdain for the Church. The writer Cal Thomas (

The media portrays us as ignorant and out of touch with society.The group the Illuminati under Weishaupt gave certain goals that they intended to achieve. Their platform called for the abolition of private property, patriotism, the family, and religion.
Century I, Quatrain 16
A scythe joined with a pond in Sagittarius at its highest ascendant. Plague, famine, death from military hands; the century approaches its renewal.
The term highest descendant could mean the end of a century according to the conjunction given. This is one of the first quatrains we have that hint of a war at the end of this century.
Century I, Quatrain 26
The great man will be struck down in the day by a thunderbolt. An evil deed, foretold by the bearer of a petition. According to the prediction another falls at night time. Conflict at Reims, London, and pestilence in Tuscany.
Here we see the prediction of the assassination of JFK and his brother Bobby. It is interesting that the psychic, Jean Dixon predicted the assassination and tried to warn him before hand. It is interesting to note that Jack Kennedy was going to go public with the realization of this secret society which controls most of the media and the public officials in this country. Trust me, it takes more faith to believe that Lee Harvey Oswald shot the president than to believe it was an assassination from very influential people. Later on in the quatrains, Nostradamus even gives the area in which the assassin fired the fatal shot to the head of the president. What astounds me is how dumb the people were for taking the Warren report as face value.
Close examination of the film of the motorcade shows that the shot came from the front not from behind as was supposed by Oswald’s famous ricocheting bullet.
Century I, Quatrain 29
When the fish that travels over both land and sea is cast up on to the shore by a great wave, its shape foreign, smooth and frightful. From the sea the enemies soon reach the walls.
Ballistic missiles as used in the Sudan bombings, and which will probably be used against the terrorist.
Century I, Quatrain 50
From the three water signs will be born a man who will celebrate Thursday as his holiday. His renown, praise, rule and power will grow on land and sea, bringing trouble to the East.
The first hint we have of the Antichrist. The only people who celebrate Thursday as a holiday as far as I know are Americans. Bill Clinton has sure brought trouble to the East if you are looking from the perspective of an Iraqi. His continual bombing of places like the Sudan, Iraq, and Kosovo in the former Yugoslavia, have sure brought tensions overseas toward American citizens. Or is this talking about another president to come? We will see in the coming years ahead.
Century I, Quatrain 55
In the land with a climate opposite to Babylon there will be great shedding of blood. Heaven will seem unjust both on land and sea and in the air. Sects, famine, kingdoms, plagues, confusion.
This is interesting with its reference to Babylon. Full scale war is seen as causing disease and famine in many kingdoms as well as different beliefs. Could the conflict be because of Islam and Catholicism? The threat of biological warfare is the reason Bill Clinton gave for the bombing of Iraq. Someone smuggled in Anthrax into a congressional meeting on Terrorism to point out how easy it would be to bring these biological germs into our country.
Century I, Quatrain 56
Sooner and later you will see great changes made, dreadful horrors and vengeance. For as the moon is thus led by its angel the heavens draw near to the Balance.
Great earth changes were not only predicted by Nostradamus, but also by Cayce and other end-time seers.
Century I, Quatrain 62
Alas! What a great loss there will be to learning before the cycle of the Moon is completed. Fire, great floods, by more ignorant rulers; how long the centuries until it is seen to be restored.
Though we have become more educated, we have suffered in the last century from a dumbing down of our educational system. If all our elected official are the so called "cream of the crop" we definitely are in deep trouble!
Century I, Quatrain 64
At night they will think they have seen the sun, when they see the half pig man; Noise, screams, battles seen fought in the skies. The brute beasts will be heard to speak.
Battles, which are fought in the sky, seem to represent what we have seen over Iraq and probably will see in Afghanistan.
Century I, Quatrain 70
Rain, famine and war will not cease in Persia; too great a faith will betray the monarch. Those (actions) started in France will end there, a secret sign for one to be sparing.
Persia is modern day Iran. Too great a faith is Islam that ousted the Shah of Iran. Ayatollah Khomeini began his campaign in France where he was in exile.
Iran is still a threat to the world, they will have their nuclear ability perfected before the end of this year.
Century I, Quatrain 87
Earthshaking fire from the center of the earth will cause tremors around the New City. Two great rocks will war for a long time, then Arethusa will redden a New River.
Is This talking about New York? It is funny how this quatrain has been interpreted. From massive earthquakes to missiles falling on major cities. What we do know and what is scary is that Military maneuvers are being held in major cities to prepare for the event of foreign terrorist attacks. The tragedy may be an attack upon the World Trade Center, which in the heart of the New City (New York).
Century I, Quatrain 91
The gods will make it appear to mankind that they are the authors of a great war. Before the sky was seen to be free of weapons and rockets; the greatest damage will be inflicted on the left.
Needless to say, there are powers in the heavenly that guide those of the earthly. Michael the archangel fought against the King of Persia in heavenly realms. We need to understand that there are forces going on around us that are not natural but are spiritual. We must fight the battle in the spiritual if we are to win it in the natural. Erika Cheetham points out in her interpretation of this quatrain that the left hand side of the world on a map is America, the country that will suffer the greatest loss. This goes along with other prophecies that place the East at the heart of the conflict.
Century I, Quatrain 96
A man will be charged with the destruction of temples and sects, altered by fantasy. He will harm the rocks rather than the living, ears filled with ornate speeches.
Nostradamus sees a religious revival that will harm the rocks not the living. Hopefully paganism and ROMANISM will be replaced with true spirituality. Who this leader will be is speculative. Many point to a new Henry who will come and bring peace to the world. Much like Constantine did, this new ruler will set the record straight when it comes to morality. Or could this leader be someone like Pope John Paul II who has stood in the gap keeping the elitist from controlling the religions of the world, and bringing in their "New World Order"?
