Century VIII, Quatrain 17

Those at ease will suddenly be cast down, the world put into trouble by three brothers; their enemies will seize the marine city, hunger, fire, blood, plague, all evils doubled.

America has never really seen the threat of foreign troop invading our land since our independence. We are weak through our apathy. As John's Revelation says,

"In her heart she boasts, I sit as queen; I am not a widow, and I will never mourn. Therefore in one day her plagues will overtake her: death, mourning and famine. She will be consumed by fire, for mighty is the Lord God who judges her".

Century VIII, Quatrain 21

Three foists will enter the port of Agde carrying the infection and pestilence, not the faith. Passing the bridge they will carry off a million, the bridge is broken by the resistance of a third.

Agde is a seaport in the southwest of France, Narbonne and Marseilles. The refugees carry the biological plague to these areas. Isn't it interesting that the beginning of the Second World War started in the same area that the third will emerge? Marseille is one of the coastal cities on the Mediterranean Sea where this disease is transmitted to the people of France instead of carrying the gospel.

Century VIII, Quatrain 28

The copies of gold and silver inflated, which after the theft were thrown into the lake, at the discovery that all is exhausted and dissipated by the debt. All scripts and bonds will be wiped out.

It seems as if the monetary boom that we are facing in the stock market is definitely planned to inflate and overvalue the money system, while on the other hand the national debt increases exponentially. Right now there are trillions of dollars, which cannot be accounted for by our administration. The theft eventually catches up with them when we finally realize that we are bankrupt as a nation and through frustration the "paper money" which isn't really money but glorified I.O.Us, are thrown into the lake. This run on the banks will make the Crash of 1929 look like a tea party. Before the crash of 1929, the United States had enjoyed a boom, in which wages were high, and production and consumption increased. During this period many developed a tendency to invest savings and earnings in speculative ventures, particularly the buying of stocks on margin putting up as little as 3 percent of a stock's price in cash and borrowing the remainder from the broker. The booming demand for stocks and the prosperous state of the nation as a whole led to a general rise in the prices of securities, which in turn led to increased investments in them.

The rise in stock prices reached its height in the so-called Hoover bull market during the first six months of the Hoover administration. In this period, individuals invested billions of dollars in the stock market, obtaining the money for such investments by borrowing from banks, mortgaging homes, and selling sound government securities, such as Liberty Bonds. In August 1929 stockbrokers were carrying on margin for their clients approximately 300 million shares of stock. By October 1929 the feverish wave of buying had exhausted itself and gave way to an equally feverish wave of selling. Prices dropped precipitously, and thousands of people lost all they had invested. This collapse frequently meant complete financial ruin. On October 29 the New York Stock Exchange, the largest in the world, had its worst day of panic selling. By the end of the year declines in stock values reached $15 billion. It is interesting that Nostradamus foresaw paper money centuries before it was ever used.

Paul the celibate will die three leagues from Rome, the two nearest flee the oppressed monster. When Mars will take up his horrible throne, the Cock and the Eagle, France and the three brothers.

Here is another quatrain telling of the ill fate of Pope John Paul. It seems as if he will die just outside of Rome or in France if the Rhone is intended. The Cock stands for France who appears to have an important role to play, and the Eagle stands for the U.S. the home of the Kennedy brothers.

Century VIII, Quatrain 51

The Byzantine makes an oblation after having taken back Cordoba. A long rest on his road, the vines cut down, at sea the passing prey captured by the Pillar.

Nostradamus seems to predict that the leader of Constantinople, whatever nation it might be, will invade Spain near Cordoba, having first made an offering to the Gods. Cordoba had belonged to the Arabs until 1031 and then to the Moslems until 1236. Line 4 may suggest that this Turkish leader, or whatever, is likely to be caught when returning through the Pillars of Hercules, i.e. Gibraltar.

Century VIII, Quatrain 59

Twice put up and twice cast down, the East will also weaken the West. Its adversary after several battles chased by seas will fail at time of need.

Asia will eventually lose at sea, but not until they have brought havoc to the Western Powers. China has not only stolen secrets from us, but Bill Clinton has sold most of our top-secret military defense capabilities.

Century VIII, Quatrain 63

When the adulterer wounded without a blow will have murdered his wife and son out of spite; his wife knocked down, he will strangle the child; eight captives taken, choked beyond help.

I leave this to your own interpretation.

Century VIII, Quatrain 73

The king is struck by a barbarian soldier, unjustly, not far from death. The greedy will be the cause of the deed, conspirator and realm in great remorse.

The barbarian soldier is presumably Islamic.

Century VIII, Quatrain 74

A king entered very far into the new land while the subjects will come to bid him welcome; his treachery will have such a result that to the citizens it is a reception instead of a festival.

Beware of this next visit by China's premier!

Century VIII, Quatrain 77

The antichrist very soon annihilates the three, twenty-seven years his war will last. The unbelievers are dead, captive, exiled; with blood, human bodies, water and red hail covering the earth.

This is the infamous Antichrist quatrain.

Century VIII, Quatrain 92

Far distant from his kingdom, sent on a dangerous journey, he will lead a great army and keep it for himself. The king will hold his people captive and hostage; he will plunder the whole country on his return.

We will see what happens in the coming months.

Century VIII, Quatrain 97

At the end of the Var the great powers change; near the bank three beautiful children are born. Ruin to the people when they are of age; in the country the kingdom is seen to grow and change more.

The river var flows into the Mediterranean between Cannes and Nice and it was the approximate border of Savoy in Nostradamus' time. The three brothers have to do with the United States. Could Bill Clinton be mistaken for one of the three Kennedy brothers? Or is there something that we don't know about Bill's genealogy?

Century VIII, Quatrain 98

Of the church men the blood will be poured forth as abundant as water in (amount); for a long time it will not be restrained, woe, woe, for the clergy ruin and grief.

The second woe of Revelation has to do with the destruction of Babylon (America/Rome?). John says in Revelation 18:15-17,

" The merchants who sold these things and gained their wealth from her will stand far off, terrified at her torment. They will weep and mourn and cry out: 'Woe! Woe, O great city, dressed in fine linen, purple and scarlet, and glittering with gold, precious stones and pearls! In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!' John sees this powerful entity as playing a vital role in most of the martyrs.

Century VIII, Quatrain 100

By the great number of tears shed, from top to bottom and from the bottom to the very top, a life is lost through a game with too much faith, to die of thirst through a great deficiency.

I leave this to the reader discretion.
