This
is for suggestion purposes only
The
last week has been very hard on all racing fans, and with that came controvesy
over what to do with the # 3.
Fans want the number to be retired, and no longer used due to the level
that Dale brought it too. I felt the same way in 1992, when Richard Petty
retired from driving. Who would be worthy enough to drive a car with the
#43 on the side? But I have accepted the decision he made, and still follow
the car. Afew things to remember, NASCAR has said it does not retire numbers,
Richard Childress owns this number, and in 1992, when ask what he would
do with the #43, he commented that if you retire numbers, sooner or later
you run out of numbers, and also Kyle Petty made the statement when Adam
was lost, that he would leave his team to drive Adam's car because he could
not see anyone other than a Petty in the car, the same could hold true
for the Earnhardt name and the #3. Due to the tragic events of the
Daytona 500, NASCAR has put the #3 in a moratrium for one year, which puts
this into the hands of the fans now. We have 1 full season to ask, write,
and call RCR and ask Richard Childress to please pass this number over
to Dale Earnhardt Inc. It only seems fitting that they have the number.
Also, please, when you ask, write or call PLEASE
BE POLITE AND COURTEOUS
Below
is an idea I have, maybe you could pass it along to RCR when contacting
them.

Remember,
this is only a suggestion, but this gives you an idea of how it would look.
I would smile if I could see this on Dale Jr's. car. One other thing, it
took me a long time to get this right, if you like the picture, and would
like to borrow it, please email me and ask, all I ask for is a link back
to my home page. PLEASE DO NOT STEAL IT.
Thank You
