BIBLIOGRAPHY

Dawson, Sophie.  The art and craft of papermaking.  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Running Press, 1992.  144 pages.  Covers the basics, sculptural techniques, pulp spraying, pulp painting, collage, embossing, embedding, laminating and more. Lots of color pix.

Heller, Jules.  Papermaking.  New York:  Watson-Guptill Publications, 1978.   216 pages.  Good general resource book.  Instructions on how to make paper, tools, and paper for special needs such as printmaking, watercolor and casting.

Saddington, Marianne.  Making your own paper:  An introduction to creative paper-making.  Pownal, VT:  Storey Communications, 1992  Another introductory book--has many colorful illustrations and how-to-projects.  This is one I keep going back to.

Shannon, Faith.  The art and craft of paper, 1995.  This is a reprint of Shannon's Paper Pleasures, and is a joyous exploration of the many faces of paper crafts.  One of my personal favorites!

Smith, Gloria Zmolek.  Teaching hand papermaking:  A classroom guide.  Cedar Rapids, Iowa:  Paperpress, 1994.    The most practical guide to papermaking I've seen--simple instructions, cheap substitutions for expensive equipment, etc.  This woman is down-to-earth!  It's aimed at teaching papermaking to kids, but I've found it to be very useful to the experienced papermaker as well.

Somerset Studio.  This bi-monthly magazine is dedicated to the paper arts,  art stamping and calligraphy.  Chockful of inspiration!
