At the vats - workshop participants prepare to 'pull' sheets, using the mold and deckle method. Each vat contains a different kind of pulp - paper mulberry, lemongrass, ginger, etc. |
The pressing and sponging station - in a workshop situation, you can't put the wet sheets in a press overnight to remove excess water. Placing the sheet between pieces of blotting paper, and sponging help expedite drying. |
The ironing station - not recommended for purists, but very practical in a workshop situation. Participants iron the remaining moisture from the sheets and they are ready to take home that day. |
