A Tour of Papermaking Sites
Paper Road/Tibet -  When China invaded Tibet in 1959, driving out the Dalai Lama and bringing death and destruction, they also sought to break the spirit of its people with their 'cultural revolution'.  Family based businesses and crafts like hand papermaking were outlawed and the tools of the trade destroyed if they could be found.

I recently took a workshop in Tibetan papermaking with Tom Leech, and learned of Paper Road/Tibet's effort to reestablish hand papermaking as a livelihood and  a cultural tradition.  Visit their site to read about this fascinating enterprise.

Earth College - training agriculturalists in Latin American countries how to make use of what would otherwise be waste to promote a sustainable environment.  Read the inspiring story on how banana paper is turning around the environment (and the economy) in Costa Rica.

Hands On Paper - Gail Stiffe has a great site with lots of examples of her work.

Peter Verheyen's
Book Arts Site - The Mother of All Links to papermaking and all things to do with the book arts
