 3/7/03 Loss to Goldsboro ends Hornets' season The #4 team in the state went up against an unranked Goldsboro squad, who's star player was out for the rest of the season. The cards were stacked against the Cougars, but they found a way to shock Hillside Friday night in Greenville, NC. Foul trouble was the key in the loss, as the Hornets were without Bobbby Perry and Brandon Alston for most of the game as they rode the bench with early fouls. The Hornets ended the 2002-03 season with 3 losses. (more) 3/3/03 Hornets win region With a great crowd at the Hillside gymnasium, the Hornets pulled out a close one to seal a spot in the sectional finals. Bobby Perry put the team on his back late in the game, scoring single handedly and throwing down a monsterous dunk to seal the game. (more) 3/1/03 Hillside gets by SW Guilford Hillside moved on in the NCHSAA playoffs with a solid win over the Cowboys of SW Guilford.
