Background: A scientist, known only as Dr. Dimentia, has developed a SUPER HOWITZER! However, during testing, the doctor accidentally destroyed the small town where his family had lived. Now, guilt over the destruction of the town has driven the scientist to suicide, but not before killing all other personel with in the complex. This has left the super howitzer abandoned. Now the race is on to gain control over this new super weapon!
The Super Howitzer: The Super Howitzer is a stationary howitzer with a DEFENSE of 4, & 12/12 Attack/Range (12/24 in Miniatures), but it cannot attack units within 1 hex (or 2 inches if your playing OGRE Miniatures).
SETUP: The Super Howitzer is placed dead center of the battlefield (preferably a LARGE one!) & allow the 2 warring factions to setup at opposing ends. No units may be within (preferably) 24 hexes (or 36 to 48 inches).
GAINING CONTROL: To gain control of the unoccupided super howitzer, a player must have at least one unit of infantry within one hex (or one inch) of the gun for one full round UNATTACKED! If this requirement is met then the troops take control of the gun. No more than three infantry units may occupy the gun.
To gain control of the occupided howitzer, opposing infantry must do as above, but when they enter the howitzer, the opposing units go to the overrun rules of engagement.
Once control is gained by a player, he or she may use the weapon a their discretion.
