In 1951 koopt Leijntje R. (Photo), haar eerste Volkswagen, type "brilletje".
Het schakelen met tussengas, ook wel 'double klusten' genoemd, met zo'n vroeg exemplar is best lasting, zeker wanneer je schlecht ter been bent. Daroom bestelt ze in 1966 deze nieuwe "Kever".
In 2001 - ze is dan 84 jaar - stopt ze met autorijden en neemt ze afscheid van haar dan 33 jaar oude "Kever".
Nooit reed ze een ander type auto.

"Existe outro além deste?"
Em 1951, Leijntje R. (foto) , que mora num povoado chamado ' Zaamslag ' na Holanda, comprou seu primeiro Volkswagen, com duas janelinhas.
Era necessário dar uma acelerada na troca de marchas e se acostumar com o acionamento duplo da embreagem. Ela nunca foi capaz de usar os pés muito bem pois possui um defeito congênito, sendo assim, este carro não era fácil de dirigir para ela. Por causa disto ela encomendou este novo Fusca 1966.
Em 2001 - então ela terá 84 anos de idade - ela vai parar de dirigir e dirá adeus a seu Fusca que terá então 33 anos.
Ela nunca dirigiu um outro tipo de automóvel.

"Is there another one than this?"
In 1951, Leijntje R. (Photo) , who lives in a town called ' Zaamslag ' in Holland (The Netherlands), bought her first Volkswagen, type "split window".
It was necessary to use "mid-acceleration" (tip the accelerator between the coupling procedure), and to get accustomed also with "double clutch". She is not able to use her feet very well because she has an inborn deficiency, so this car wasn't easy for her to drive. For this reason she ordered in 1966 this new 'Beetle'.
In 2001 - then she will be 84 years old - she will stop with car driving and will say farewell to her "Beetle" that will be 33 years old at that time.
She never did ride another automobile type.
