New Year's Eve Party

Place: Wong Residence
Date: 31st December 1999

From as far back as i can remember, my family has always hosted large New Year's celebrations at our house every year...but, this year was special, not only was it the birth of the New Millenium, but it was also a chance for us to celebrate all the good friends we've made and kept throughout the years, especially from our English sunday-school.

A year's worth of planning and anticipating went into the idea for this party. Chris and Richard provided the fireworks, and I provided the Booze...all of our old church friends, from home and abroad, were invited. And at about 10:00pm, the party began...Using my father's digital camera, I managed to snap these pics as a momento of our long awaited Re-Union.

(Background Music - "Misato's Theme" from Evangelion.)

Zero-Hour Approaches

All of our good friends gather together at our house for a night of Champagne, Fire-works and Laughter

Norman: "Chris, are you sure this gun is safe?"

Chris: "Of course!, i made it myself!"

Onlookers: "Oh no, here we go again!"

Bravery?...or sheer Stupidity?

Norman takes aim with Christopher's "Experimental" hand-held rocket launcher...the GLORK 18.

Norman: "Okay, so all i have to do is light this fuse, hold it like this and everything will be okay right?...Right!?...Hey!, why is everyone backing away!?"

Onlookers: "Our Father, who art in Heaven..."

You Decide = )

As we expected, yet another one of Chris's Zany experiments blew up in our faces...luckily, only Norman got hurt = )

Norman: "Whoa!, Shit!...was it supposed to do that?...*sniff, sniff*...hey!, something smells like it's burning!"

Marilyn: "Hmm...i wonder if i should tell Norman that his Arm is smoking?"

Yet another Casualty...

Richie strikes a daring pose as he attempts to fire the weapon, notice his casual "shooting from the hip stance"...He was later taken to the Intensive Burn Unit at the UWI Hospital, where he was treated for 3rd degree burns to 99% of his body...he was extremely lucky...it could have been worse.

Richie: "Step back fools, lemme show you how it's done!"

Gary: "I call first dibs on his Sega Dreamcast!"

Ada: "Fare thee well Richie, we shall miss you..."

State of the Art Multiple Rocket Launcher manufactured by Wong-Chung Industries.

Using the latest "technology" and "space-age" materials, our team of Mad Scientists managed to create a rocket-launching platform for the New Year's festivities in under 5 minutes...Awesome isn't it? = )

Jeff: "Hmm...i wonder if we should have used nails instead of Ponal glue and Tape to put it together?"

Chris: "Naah!!"

Onlookers: "okay everyone, get the buckets of water and the fire-extinguishers ready!"

Couple of the Evening?

Being the smart one, i decided not to get myself burnt and blown up lighting the fireworks this year, but instead took the time out to get to know all the Cute girls at the party.

Jeff: "Hmm...i wonder...if i put my arm around her like this..."

Mel: "Hey!, watch where you're putting your hand Pal!...Move it...or LOSE it!!"

Jeff: "Nope...guess not!"

Group Photo

We decided to take the group photo before and not after the party this year...wisely enough, since most were either too injured, drunk or simply missing to stand for the picture afterwards!
