Hello, my name is Kristen. I am 16 years old and attend Thorold Secondary School. I have been twirling with the Port Colborne Hi-Steppers Baton Twirling Corps. Inc.for 7 years. I enjoy baton twirling because it is a mixture of baton and dance, which means you can be creative and have fun at the same time. The Hi-Steppers Baton Corps is a great place to make friends and have fun. Our coaches encourage you to do your best. I have done corps routines as well as individual routines. I have done Medley,Solo-Dance , Solo and Duet. I am currently a BN athlete and am working on my Grey badge.I have worn alot of different costumes for my routines over the last 7 years and even designed a couple last year for my individual events . I want to wish everyone a great baton year and "GOOD LUCK" at the competitions. Kristen |

My name is Julia. I am 11 years old and have been twirling for 8 years. I am in the 6th grade at Alexander Kuska Catholic School.. My favorite routine is 2-Baton, last year I won the silver medal in all of Ontario for the Juvenile division. I have also won alot of other awards like Miss Primary, Miss Juvenile and Top Twirler. I have alot of friends that I have made at baton and even though some of them don't twirl anymore we still see each other from time to time and laugh about baton competitions.I have also twirled on TV and at our annual school Talent Show. This year I am working on my green badge and trying to catch a 4 spin. I have tried to make some of my friends come to Baton and see what it is like, but most of them have other things to do! But I still try. I think Baton is great because it is like gymnastics and dance all together. I hope that everyone has a great Halloween and ... watch out for the MONKEY!! Julia |
