My Great-Grandfather:
Joseph JAKUBISIN, married Mary Baca. They had four sons, George, Joseph M., Andrew and John, and two daughters, Mary and Ann.
My grandfather:
Joseph M., married Mary Mizopalko. They had one son, Joseph John, and one daughter, Dorothy.
My grandfather was born in Oneida,PA. on 2 April 1895 and fought in World War I as a member of the AEF in France. He was wounded in action (gassed in Soissons, France on 18 July 1918 and recieved the Purple Heart w/four clusters. He also was awarded the French Fougurre and Silver Button. He was being considered for the Medal of Honor and may have also been a P.O.W.
After the war, he was a prison guard at the NJ State Prison. He was one of the men chosen to guard Richard Bruno Hauptmann in his cell.
My father:
Joseph John, b. 4 July 1920, married Francis Machalek. Their first child was Joseph Stephen, their second was Carol Ann, and their third, Ronal.
My father was a popular local band leader in the 50's and 60's, heading the Joe Jay Society Orchestra.
