Turkey
We are in the process of scanning the pictures, and building the page on Turkey. Heres some information. and a few pictures to start.

This trip to Turkey was part of our first wedding anniversary along with Greece. We arrived in Istanbul on Turkish Airlines. Most are required to have a Visa to enter Turkey, but one can be obtained (by cash only) on arrival at the airport. Here's a bit of history on Istanbul.
Istanbul is one of the oldest cities in the world. First known as Byzantium, later called Constantinople and today known as Istanbul. It was once the capitol of the Eastern Roman Empire. Along with Rome, Costantinople was one of the major centers of Christianity up until the Turkish Conquest.

We found Istanbul to be a beautiful and interesting city with many facinating and historical sites.

The picture you see here is of Hagia Sofia ("St. Sofia"). This inactive Mosque was once know as the greatest church of in all of the Christian world.
Here's a view of part of the interior in all it's magnificence.
Here is a mosaic depicting Jesus. One of many beautiful mosaics adourning the interior.

For millitary historians, or anyone interested in modern world history, a visit to the Gallipoli battlefield is very interesting. And again, for ancient history buffs, not far from the Gallipoli battlefield is the ancient city of Troy, believed by archeologists to be the famed city of the Trojan War from Homer's Iliad.
