Unfolding
the Rose
Long ago one day, I asked my dad
What my future would be like
He gave me a rose bud to unfold
And said therein the secret lies
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of Allah’s design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.
The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I
Allah opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they wilt and die.
If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of Allah's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?
So I'll trust Him for His unfolding
Each moment of every day.
I will look to Him for His guidance
Each step in a momin way.
The pathway that lies before me,
Only Allah in the heaven knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.
Just like the eyes need the light to see
Aql needs a guide to show the path
Maola Burhanuddin is my shining guide
That illuminates my daily unfolding path
Among his many other karam & ehsaan
his doa always keeps me in aafiyat
I always pray for his good health
And a long life ta qiyamat.
