Meteor Garden Synopsis

At the school café, Mei Zuo and Xi Men grill Ah Si for the details of THE date. They get the wrong idea about the date and Ah Si does not clarify. Shan Cai, Bai He and Qian Hui run into F3. Shan Cai and Ah Si are extremely shy when they meet each other. Mei Zuo sings a love song. Qian Hui is mesmerized by his voice. The three girls settle down for lunch. While Qian Hui and Bai He are fawning over Shan Cai, Li Zhen interrupts them. The two of them tries to chase her away and tells her that Shan Cai is now of a different status from her. Shan Cai tries to speak up for her. The two of them decide to invite Shan Cai and Li Zhen to the disco at night.

At the disco, Li Zhen and Shan Cai, who are not into such nightlife, sits at a corner and drink. Shan Cai sees the deejay break dance. When he does handstands, Shan Cai remembers what Lei told her about doing handstands to prevent tears from flowing. Curious, she asks the deejay why he did a handstand. He claims that handstands prevent the kidney from dropping down (??).

Qian Hui and Bai He gather everyone to play truth or dare. As Li Zhen keeps losing, she keeps drinking and got drunk. Qing He sends her home. At the end of the night, everyone is drunk. Qian Hui and Bai He leaves the disco, forgetting all about Shan Cai who is lying on the couch. The deejay sees her alone and brings her to a hotel. A mystery person photographs them as they enter the hotel.

The next morning, Shan Cai wakes up on the hotel bed in her undergarments thinking that she has done something wrong with the deejay. She gets a big scolding and a slap from her mother for not coming home the whole night.

In school, Ah Si is waiting for Shan Cai. She does not tell him about the happenings of the night before. He drags her to lunch.

At lunch, Ah Si orders a lot of food for Shan Cai. Qing He comes along with a lot of food but hides when he sees Shan Cai with Ah Si. Ah Si glares at Qing He. However, he is extremely gentle and sweet to Shan Cai and urges her to eat more. Xi Men tells her it’s the first time he ever saw Ah Si so considerate and caring towards others. But Mei Zuo warns her that Ah Si is also very possessive. If Shan Cai ever talked to guys other than the F4, Ah Si may just kill the two of them. Shan Cai remembers what happened the night before and imagines the kind of things that Ah Si could do to her if he found out. Feeling uneasy, she excuses herself to go to the toilet. She decides that since she will never meet the deejay again, she will treat it as last night never happened.

Outside the toilet, Qing He is waiting for Shan Cai. Apparently, he met the deejay outside school who asks him to pass a note to Shan Cai. The deejay asks Shan Cai to meet him outside the school at 2pm.

When she sees the deejay, she shouts at him, thinking that he had done something to her. However, he reveals that nothing happened between the two of them and that it was the cleaning lady who took her clothes off. He returns Shan Cai her IC. Shan Cai is relieved that nothing happened. Ah Si sees the two of them talking and Shan Cai panics. She claims that he was just a passerby asking for directions but Ah Si does not believe her. Quickly, the deejay starts talking in German, thinking that that would throw Ah Si off. But Ah Si answers in fluent French and impresses Shan Cai. Ah Si proudly tells her that he had studied overseas when he was young and thus could speak many languages. She immediately asks him to speak in all the languages that he could speak in, thus allowing the deejay to escape. When Ah Si realizes that the deejay was gone, he was worked up again. He yells at Shan Cai for being friendly to strangers. Shan Cai tells him that he has no right to tell her what to do as they are not dating. Ah Si feels hurt and storms off.

Xi Men are cutting their hair at the salon. Ah Si is thinking about what Shan Cai said and paces up and down the salon. Xi Men is cutting his hair at THAT salon as he wants to get to know one of the girls. Mei Zuo teases him that he has been there for a long time but the girl has not even looked at him. Xi Men then tells him that girls are always denying their true feelings. He states that girls never reveal their feelings in front of the guys they like. Furthermore, Mei Zuo and Xi Men confirm that Shan Cai is such a girl. Ah Si hears this, and thinking that Shan Cai denied that they were dating because she likes him, he is exhilarated. Excited, Ah Si does a little dance at the door entrance.

Meanwhile, Qian Hui and Bai He meet at the pub. Qian Hui shows Bai He a stack of photos. Someone has sent the photos to her letterbox.

The next morning, photos of Shan Cai and the deejay entering the hotel are pasted on the notice board. Everyone gathers around and starts gossiping. Li Zhen stops Shan Cai from going into school and warns her to go home immediately before Ah Si bashes her up. Shan Cai is confused and Li Zhen tells her that the photos are up on the notice board. Shan Cai runs to see the board. She is shocked to see those photos. Meanwhile, people around her are criticizing her and are happy that they will have a chance to start bulling her again.

At home, Shan Cai feels hurt when she thinks about the photos. She is confused as to why she is feeling that way as she always thought she hated Ah Si. She does not want Ah Si to feel sad but decides that she still has to go school.

In school, a guy attaches Shan Cai’s motorbike onto his car and drags it on the road. She shouts at him but to no avail. Desperate, she rushes to the car and attempts to detach the bike from the car. Ah Si appears and stops everyone. He still has not seen the photos yet. However, Qian Hui appears with the photos and shows him. An statement of hurt and anger appears on Ah Si’s face. While Qian Hui keeps trying to sway Ah Si into hating Shan Cai, Shan Cai desperately implores Ah Si not to believe what the photos seem to say. She tells him that its all right if nobody believes her, as long as he believes her. Confused and devastated, Ah Si accuses Shan Cai of betraying him and angrily walks away. Shan Cai is disillusioned that Ah Si would rather believe Qian Hui than her.

She runs after the guy who has her motorbike and finally, when her bike is detached, it is beyond repair. Both Shan Cai and Qing He are injured.

Ah Si is sitting on the ledge and drowns his sorrows in alcohol. Mei Zuo and Xi Men are extremely worried about him. They decide to knock him out so that he will stop drinking. However, Ah Si disappears when they are about to take action.

Li Zhen sees the drunk Ah Si. He mistakes her for Shan Cai and kisses her. She does not resist. Li Zhen drags him to a hotel and watches over him, happy and contented. Apparently, Li Zhen has liked Ah Si for a very long time but knows that when he wakes up, everything will have to end.

When Ah Si comes to, he does not remember that he had kissed her the night before. She realizes that he had kissed her thinking that she was Shan Cai. Li Zhen tells Ah Si that she does not blame him because when you love a person, you will only remember the good things about him, no matter what he has done. As she says this, Ah Si remembers what Shan Cai – that it doesn’t matter if everyone did not believe her, as long as he did. At that moment, he decides that he believes in Shan Cai and stands up to go. Li Zhen tries to stop him but he pushes her away. Li Zhen tells him she can talk and walk like Shan Cai if that is what he wants. He tells her that she is totally different from Shan Cai. He warns her to tell anyone about what happened between them.

Meanwhile, Shan Cai is beaten up badly by a group of guys at the field, claiming to be taking revenge for Ah Si. She does not bow down to them and challenges them to continue beating her up. After being beaten up continuously, she collapses on the floor. Just as one of the guys is about to step on her, Ah Si appears and punches him. He holds Shan Cai in his arms and tells her, as long as she says nothing happened, he would believe her. Touched and relieved, Shan Cai breaks down in tears.

Ah Si carries her out of school and refuses to let her down. He tells her that since it was so difficult for him to get her, he will not let her go so easily. In the car, Shan Cai feels loved and contented even thought her whole body is aching. He brings her to his house and orders his servants to clean her up and treat her wounds. In the bathroom, Shan Cai thinks about what just happened and is confused as to why she cried when Ah Si held her in his arms. She realizes that she really felt very protected when he held her.

After her bath, Ah Si helps to treat Shan Cai’s wounds on Ah Si’s bed. Ah Si apologizes to Shan Cai as he felt that it was him who caused her to be beaten up. He asks her if she slept with the deejay and she tells him that nothing happened. Ah Si expresses his jealousy and says that he is so jealous that he feels like killing the guy. He tells her that he really likes her and kisses her. The two of them falls off the bed. Embarrassed, Shan Cai rushes off to sleep. She is surprised that he would like someone like her.

In the morning, Ah Si’s servant shows Shan Cai the new motorbike that Ah Si had ordered them to buy for her. He tells Shan Cai that Ah Si had gone to school and keeps muttering something about revenge.

In school, Ah Si had two guys attach themselves to his car and drags them around like the way the guys dragged Shan Cai’s motorbike. He also tied up the guys who beat up Shan Cai. Shan Cai asks him to release everyone. Ah Si also tied Qian Hui and put her in the boot. Qian Hui tells Shan Cai that she did not take the photos; neither did she put the photos on the notice board. Shan Cai believes Qian Hui and Ah Si lets her go. The minute everyone leaves the scene, Shan Cai and Ah Si are rooted to the ground, both shy and blushing. Xi Men and Mei Zuo teases them again and Ah Si walks away. Shan Cai recalls him telling her that he likes her a lot and wonders if it was a dream.

When Shan Cai returns home, her mother is disappointed to find that Shan Cai and Ah Si has not slept together.

At the mansion, Ah Si orders his servant to find out, by hook or by crook, where the photos (of Shan Cai and the deejay) are developed.

The next day in school, Qing He offers to carry a box for Shan Cai. Ah Si appears and warns him not to be so close to Shan Cai. He gives Shan Cai a hand phone and tells Shan Cai to appear whenever she receives a call from him. Shan Cai is frustrated at his way of going after her.

Meanwhile, Ah Si also sends many high-tech electrical appliances to Shan Cai’s house. Shan Cai’s mother is ecstatic but Shan Cai is not at all thrilled. Ah Si calls and “summons” Shan Cai. She rushes off to meet him at the pub, with plans of asking him to take back all the gifts.

At the pub, Shan Cai is upset that Ah Si had called her to the pub for no reason. Hua Zhe Lei suddenly appears, looking cheerful. Everyone is surprised. Shan Cai is surprised but welcomes him back. Ah Si hugs Shan Cai and tells Lei that they are dating.
