Book chosen: Loves

When I was wondering around one of the bookshelves in
the RUN RUN SHAW LIBRARY, the word LOVES caught
my attention successfully. I took it out and went to complete
the borrowing procedure immediately, hoping that I would be
able to read some romantic love stories one by one. However,
the content is exactly another kind of attraction!
The whole book is divided into eight parts with their
respective titles and authors. In the book, romantic love stories
are not written as usual as I expect. Instead, the authors try
hard to explain what love is and hence describe it by telling
some stories or even some experiences of their own. The book
briefly introduced the different stages of love--from the very
beginning to marriage in a church, the underside of love, love
is somehow related to alcohol in western culture and the love
between parents and children.
Unlike other books, which are just telling love stories
directly, the book does leave some space for the readers to think
or to imagine. Take `The Underside of Love' as an example, it
tells me that love is not a kind of control on my lover and the
opposite of love is hate indeed. After reading this whole story,
some questions had really come up to my mind. Love is really
related to the word `control' ? Would I love and hate a girl at
the same time?? That's what I expressed as another kind of
attraction! So, I'd like to recommend this book to all of you.
After reading several theories of love, I think you'd probably
realize and think more about what the word love is!!
