From June to August in 1998, there was a severe flooding in Changjiang (ªø¦¿) in China, which is the 3rd longest river in the world. This flooding is known as the most severe one all over the world in the recent decade. At almost the same time, northeastern China had also got a huge flooding. Those two hazards brought a great damage to the lives and properties in the affected region and left us a deep-rooted memory.
In the following pages, I would like to talk about the factors, course and effects of the Changjiang flooding in 1998; and also what the China government did to tackle the problems. Do not hesitate, click the link at the bottom right corner to visit the next page!
