What the novel about?

This famous novel was about the adventure of the Three Musketeers and the fourth one, d'Artagnan. In the reign of French king, Louis XIII, the Cardinal Richelieu had very great power, especially in state affair. Though he had many brave and good cavaliers and spies, the four friends succeeded in settling the traps that Richelieu set up. The beautiful but horrible creature, Milady, was one of his Eminence's spy. Her mysterious background and role in the historical background showed Dumas' talented imagination.

My Comment

I like this novel very much and so I've bought the whole series of the Three Musketeers. Hmm... To me, the adventurous life of the four friends was so admirable. Dumas' imagination made the story fit in the historical background. (however, the order of event sometimes... you know... altered or was wrong) Anyway, it was a well-planned masterpiece. From adventure to love affair, from the King to a little servant, everything in the book made you wonder as if you're really living in the 18th century.

The relation between Milady, d'Artagnan and Athos was the most attracting and suspicious that will make you want to read more and more, until the end.

Though the story ended, another story would begin twenty years after... ...
