My Comment

You'll like this novel, as the life and thought of her was expressed in a realistic way that it'll make you feel that it was truly Marie who wrote all these. The Confession part was not the main theme of this novel, but her life she lived before her execution. However, it was not contradictory. As the extravagant  and wasteful life was the main reason why the French hated her so much and led to her execution.

Though many people thought that Marie was a bad wretch that led to people's hatred and later the French Revolution. However, the writer wrote the ignorance and innocence of her too. This was enough to make readers think sensibly that things may not always have right or wrong. So, how about her? Hmm... To me, she was one of the many reasons that ruined the country. However, it should not be the main reason. The most important factor must be the way that the French Court treated her citizens.

Anyway, this book is certainly a good one. The detailed description made every scene, character and place so real that will even bring you into the world of the book.
