The Four and a half cup tea club

Talk and demonstration at the HKU (2003)

The Club was invited to give a talk and demonstration at the Hong Kong University as part of their General Education program. The theme was Chinese tea and Chinese culture. In particular, we were asked to elaborate how in a piece of tea leaf contains the Chinese  culture. We were asked to talk about different aspects of tea and talked in details the Puerh tea and why it is such a mystery to so many people. A formal tea demonstration was staged that showed how tea was brew and, after wards, both Tikkwunyum and Puerh tea were served. We chose a recent Tikkwunyum and an aged Tikkwunyum to so the difference. We also picked a raw Puerh and a 'cooked' Puerh so that people could relate them to those they drink in restaurants.

The contacts, communications, division of labour, transportation, detailed preparation, ...,  was taken care of by Yueng Kim Wo.  The Club turned out in full force and everybody had a part to played. Although the weather could be better but the events, set indoor, went really well. We were met with courtesy warmth and were made to felt welcome and appreciated. Here are some of the photos taken by HKU for the event. They also gave us a VCD  that has the event on it. I have to learn how to put the video clip here.
