畫右圖的這件T恤,原本是送給那個在中秋節生日,卻無緣參加外展課程的狗/久友;後來決定把它送回外展,因為覺得外展把'志風號'殺死了。
我曾經在某船廠工作三年,這讓我明白,船像魚,生命在海裏,不在地上;可是,外展訓練學校自己印的T恤(左圖上方),卻把他們的這條船 '志風號'置在一條直線上,把她弄得像只放在模型架上的船型,了無生氣。
然而,令我決心把T恤送回外展的,是我當年的分組導師。 1998年9月,'志風號'要上排(岸)維修,那導師在我們的聚會上提及此事,並且建議那些想跟'志風'拍照的前學員,可以借機到上了排(岸)的'志風號'上去拍照。我的天啊呀!這跟跑到醫院去為一個躺在病床、不能表明拍照意願的病人拍照有何分別。
我並不生活在海上,也不靠船抓吃,但依我所見,那些經常在船上活動的船員們,大都對船尊重敬愛有加,反而那些教人善待環境共用資源的外展導師,他們經常在船上活動,卻完全不知道尊重和愛護船隻,也不明白船生於海上,亡在地面。
可惜這一切努力徒勞無功;我在1998年10月把這 T恤送回外展,'志風號'卻在2000年尾失去馬會資助,被迫停航。
衫上寫著:慣於追風逐浪,未為世事徬徨。
Form the beginning, I drew the T-shirt (the right photo) as a birthday present of a friend, he was born in Middle-Autumn Festival but no chance to join in the Outward Bound Course. Finally, I determined to send it back to Outward Bound School (OBS), the reason was that I thought Ji Fung (the ship) was killed by OBS.
I worked in a shipyard over three years; recalled the experience, I believe that ships/boats like fish, they live at sea but not on land. Contrary to mine, OBS put Ji Fung on a boring line in their self-created T-shirt, that made Ji Fung like a model being put on a frame and lost her life.
The fire was lighted up by my instructor, his suggestion coursed me decided to send the T-shirt back to OBS. About September 1998, he told us that Ji Fung would be sent to shipyard for repair and the workers would take her leave water; he believed that it was a good time to take photo with Ji Fung and suggested us to contact him if we have such intention. How terrible! It was just like to take photos for a patient when he/she was lying on hospital bed and loss mind in deciding to take photo or not.
Even I am not live life at sea and do not work on boat, I still know that farmer worship soil and crew worship sea and boat. Opposed with my belief, the instructors taught us friendly with environment and sharing resource, at the same time, they always stay and work on ship/boat but they have in contempt of ship/boat and do not respect for the fact that ships/boats live at sea and died on land.
Sad to say, all my effort was wasted by the determination of Jockey Club; they decided not to provide financial support OBS for Ji Fung and it made Ji Fung suspend shipping about the end of 2000.
'Used to trace wind and wave, no fear when facing the world (the world means the change in world)' that is the meaning of the word it was written on the shirt.
