When mortals die, their souls depart from their bodies. Their ghosts will roam the planet in search of a place to settle down. Kinava exist to guide the dead to the promised nirvana. With their strong power, they separate the dead from the living and bring balance between the worlds of life and afterlife.

Kinava means 'majestic' in Crescent, an ancient language also known to Samara. It is believed that these two clans share the same origin, but little is known about their connection. Unlike Samarans, Kinavans are immortals and their power is much deeper and mysterious.

Kinava is divided into social classes by the level of psychic power. Not much is known about their classification. Neeva, which means King in Crescent, is the highest position in the Kinavan hierarchy. Below Neeva is Kinnar, which means prince. The rest of the chain consists of Emvla, Kindlar, Smnia, etc in sequence of their power. Their position is determined on the day of their existence.
