In memory of His Honour Judge Z.E.LI who has passed away on 28th January 2003. His memory will always remain with us.  We will miss him deeply.

己故李宗鍔法官

(1952-2003)

李宗鍔，廣東開平人，一九五二年九日十九日生於香港，曾在香港和英國牛津大學修業。一九八一年取英國執業律師資格，翌年取香港執業律師資格。

一九八七年加入司法機構任職，先後歷任裁判官，死因裁判官，小額錢債審裁官，勞資審裁處審裁官及署理首席審裁官。一九九五年獲委任為當時的地方法院(現稱區域法院)法官。後更曾一度獲委為高等法院暫委法官。

於二零零二年四月起因病休假,至翌年一月二十八日在瑪麗醫院病逝，終年五十 一歲。遺有妻及三子。署理終審法院首席法官陳兆愷表示哀痛。(觀看聲明)

　

Li Zong-er was born in Hong Kong in 1952.  He was educated in both Hong Kong and Oxford England.  He was admitted as a practising solicitor in England in 1981 and in Hong Kong in the following year.  Judge Li was in private practice before joining the Judiciary as a Magistrate in 1987.  He was appointed a District Court Judge in 1995.  He has once been appointed a Deputy Judge of the High Court.

He was on sick leave from April 2002 onwards and died in Queen Mary Hospital on 28th January 2003 at the age of 51.  Left with wife and three sons.  Acting Chief Justice Patrick Chan paid tribute to Judge Z.E. Li. (see tribute)
