Introduction to the Sankeertana
This Sankeertana is one of the 32,000 sung by
Sri Annamacharya in praise of Lord Venkateswara.  This keertana enchants the pleasure one receives when he has a glimpse of HisLotusFeet.
The keertana brings forth the Vaamana Avatara [5th of such 10 avataras or incarnations] of Lord Vishnu. During this avataara, Lord Vishnu as Vaamana asks Asura Bali Chakravarthy, the greatest of the donors but tyrants during his period, the land which can measure His three foot steps, which Bali immediately grants. It was then the turn of Vaamana to start and take these three foot steps. The Lord steps His first foot on the Earth (covering whole of it)*, the Lord lands His second step on the Heaven**. Having found no more land to land His foot, Vaamana asks asura Bali as to where he can land His third foot step. Bali shows his head to place the Lord's foot. Immediately, Vaamana knocks him down to Paataala Loka, the world for asuras. Thus came the end of a Chakravarthy, the emperor who dethroned Indra (the king of Heaven). This knock-down of Bali saved Indra and restored Heaven.

Notes:
* This is where in the sankeertana is referred to as 'Chelagi vasudha golichina nee paadamu' which means that when set free, HisLotusFeet measure whole of the Earth (and more of it because He is asking for land worth another two foot steps!!).
** This is where Lord Brahma is said to have washed HisLotusFeet with the water from his kamandalam (a small vessel). The so-washed-water flew down to the Earth and gave birth to the Holy Ganges (River Ganga).

Meaning

Oh Lord, Your Lotus Feet were washed by Lord Bramha;
Your Feet are a Brahmam by itself!
Your Feet, when set free, measure the Earth;
Your Feet were laid on the head of the Asura - Bali Chakravarthy;
Your Feet subdue the Cosmos (whole Universe);
Your Feet are the abode of Lord Indra, who was saved by your knock-down of the Bali Chakravarthy!

Oh Lord, the greatest of the saints have always found their home at Your Holy Feet;
Your Feet have shown that Tirumala mountain is eternal;
Your feet are the abode of eternal bliss, salvation and moksha!!

Additional Information related to the Keerthana

Sri Annamacharya has beautifully described the sarvaanga sundara roopam of Venkatachalapathi in all his keerthanas. The above keertana describes His Lotus Feet as the one which gives eternal bliss and salvation !!
