Inserting A Background
1. Find the background that you want (I will be adding a Clip Art section to my links page, with links to clipart & backgrounds) 2. Save the background to a file on your computer. From there upload it into your choice of file storage sites. My preference is Photobucket.com 3. Paste the following codes INTO your website. The first code at the VERY top of your column (unless you have MUSIC on your site.. then insert it just under the code for the music).. the 2nd code at the very BOTTOM of your site. Have fun! Be imaginative! If you need more help or my instructions are not clear.. feel free to email me @ myavon04@tds.net |

Here is the FIRST Half of the HTML code that you will need to insert a background into your Erep site. This part of the code goes at the VERY top of the section that you are editing.. <Table background="http://www.geocites.com/yourid/nameofbackground.jpg"><tbody><tr><td> Where I have "oocities.com" you will need your storage server, where I have "yourid" that would be what you registered as, and the name of the background picture you uploaded to that storage server Background Code - BOTTOM of the PAGE.... at the VERY bottom, after EVERYTHING else... </td></tr><tbody></table> |

When you upload your graphic's into the Photoshop.com you are automatically generated 3 different HTML codes for inserting the graphic into various mediums. I use the 2nd code listed UNDER the graphic.. it is labeled "HTML TAG". BUT there are parts of the provided HTML code that you CAN'T USE! Here is a SAMPLE code.. with the parts HIGHLIGHTED that you will HAVE to erase off in order for the code wo work on your Erep site. <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"> <img src="http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/hlbutler1980/St%20Pattys%20Day/irish-bg.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"> The second part is the code for the graphic. The rest of it is unnecessary and the Avon site WILL erase the ENTIRE graphic unless you erase them |

Here is a look at what one of MY background codes looks like.. I use photobucket.com to store things in. The top part of your HTML code SHOULD look something like this. <Table background="http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/myaccountID/St%20Pattys%20Day/ irish-bg.jpg" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"><tbody><tr><td> |

Prep'ing your Erep Site to recieve HTML Coding
1. Open your Web Office... Click on the "Website Editor" Tab. 2. Under step 3 (Edit your Home Page) on the Website Editor page - Click on any one of the little EDIT buttons on the column that you want to insert the pic/clipart/slideshow etc. into 3. In the little box that opens up .... click on the EDIT CONTENTS button. It is EASIEST to start with a blank page when you are pasting in pics/clipart.. unless you are used to working with HTML coding. 4. At the BOTTOM of the Edit Contents page... there is a little CHECK BOX that is labeled... "Edit in HTML code".. check this box! If you have anything already typed into the column.. it WILL turn FUNNY!... DO NOT WORRY... this is just the HTML coding for what you already have typed into the column! 5. Paste the HTML code for your pic/clipart/slideshow etc. into the column where you want it to go. 6. Either click on the "Edit in HTML code" box again to UNCHECK it.. and continue editing your column.. OR click on the SAVE button (bottom, far right corner) to save your changes. 7. ALWAYS click on the SAVE & PUBLISH button after you have saved your changes.. BEFORE you go to edit another column! That way they you won't lose the changes that you have just made!! 8. THere is a Black Lettered link in the TOP RIGHT CORNER of the Website Editor page.. it says "VIEW PERSONAL WEBSITE" .. click here to view your website, to determine whether anything needs to be adjusted.. made smaller or larger or moved up or down, etc.. |
