Inserting Pics & Clip Art
Photobucket - Free Image & Video Hosting
Putting Pictures or Clip Art into your Welcome or News & Announcements columns are easy. Here is how to do it. |
||||||||||||||
1. Open a Photobucket account... they are FREE! 2. Search the web for pic's and clip art that you would want to paste onto your erep site. BUT make sure that any pic's or clipart that you choose are NOT copyrighted or protected in any way. You do not want to end up facing any legalities... It is best to look for FREE Clip Art.. I have some links that I will post below. 3. COPY and PASTE the pics that you choose into a file on your computer!.. It is ILLEGAL to COPY and Paste clip art and pics directly to your site, this is known as Hotlinking. Also if you DO C&P directly to your site if the person who's site you copied them from REMOVES the pics/clip art.. you will end up with a blank space on your site 4. Upload the pics from your computer TO your PhotoBucket account 5. Under each pic in your photobucket.com account.. there will be 4 different codes listed... you want to use the 3rd one from the graphic or the one marked "HTML CODE" 6. Copy the Code.. and Paste it into the Column where you want it. Then.... ERASE the FIRST "section" of the code!! IF you do NOT erase the FIRST set of < >'s the code will NOT work on the Erep site!! Example: Here is the HTML TAG code copied WHOLE from my photobucket account: <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/hlbutler1980/fw.gif" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> and HERE is the part that MUST be erased after you paste it into your Erep site! <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"> And HERE is what the code SHOULD look like in order for it to paste into your EREP site.. <img src="http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n50/hlbutler1980/fw.gif" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a> ---- See below for instructions as to how to get your Erep Edit page ready to paste in the HTML codes. |

Troubleshooting | ||||||||||||||
I am following all the instructions posted above and all that is showing is the HTML Code that I am pasting in to the column. Why? First.. make sure that you are copying the ENTIRE code.. EVERYTHING! If that is not the problem... You will need to try a different HTML code for that particular pic. This is why Photobucket generates several different HTML codes. Just keep trying them until you find the one that works for that pic. OR ... Make sure that you are Erasing the WHOLE first part of the HTML TAG code! |

Any other troubleshooting problems that you may have... you can email me at myavon04@tds.net... and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.
Prep'ing your Erep Site to recieve HTML Coding
1. Open your Web Office... Click on the "Website Editor" Tab. 2. Under step 3 (Edit your Home Page) on the Website Editor page - Click on any one of the little EDIT buttons on the column that you want to insert the pic/clipart/slideshow etc. into 3. In the little box that opens up .... click on the EDIT CONTENTS button. It is EASIEST to start with a blank page when you are pasting in pics/clipart.. unless you are used to working with HTML coding. 4. At the BOTTOM of the Edit Contents page... there is a little CHECK BOX that is labeled... "Edit in HTML code".. check this box! If you have anything already typed into the column.. it WILL turn FUNNY!... DO NOT WORRY... this is just the HTML coding for what you already have typed into the column! 5. Paste the HTML code for your pic/clipart/slideshow etc. into the column where you want it to go. 6. Either click on the "Edit in HTML code" box again to UNCHECK it.. and continue editing your column.. OR click on the SAVE button (bottom, far right corner) to save your changes. 7. ALWAYS click on the SAVE & PUBLISH button after you have saved your changes.. BEFORE you go to edit another column! That way they you won't lose the changes that you have just made!! 8. THere is a Black Lettered link in the TOP RIGHT CORNER of the Website Editor page.. it says "VIEW PERSONAL WEBSITE" .. click here to view your website, to determine whether anything needs to be adjusted.. made smaller or larger or moved up or down, etc.. |
