Writing Contest open to all Interactors by Rotary Club of Pudu.
In conjunction with the launching of “ Available blindness and Eyecare Projects RI District 3300” by YB Dato Shahrizat Abdul Jalil, minister, Women’s Affairs Ministry an essay writing competition was held. The launching was held on Saturday, 10th March 2001 at 10am at Sungai Wang Plaza, Kuala Lumpur. The rotary club of Pudu organized this essay writing contest with the aim to raise the awareness of avoidable blindness in our youth. The essay topic was “ What Sight Means to Me ”. They prepared three prizes for the best essays. The first prize is RM500, followed by the second prize which is RM 250 and the third prize is RM 125. Our club, an essay written by Int. Chin Ying Zhu.
When correcting the essay which had only grammar error, Mr. Sid was doubtful whether the work was original such was the quality of the work produced by Int. Chin Ying Zhu.
On the 19th March 2001, the president of Rotary Club of Taiping, Rtn. Tan Siew Yong and our Rotarian Advisor, Rtn. Lim Lib Huat kindly sacrifized their precious time to attend our school assembly. During the assembly, Rtn. Tan had delivered his message followed by the ceremony of giving price to Int. Chin. There was a great achievement by our club. Once again our club must specially thank our teacher advisor, Rtn. Tan and Rtn.Lim. Once again congratulations to Int. Chin Ying Zhu! You have made our club so proud.
