14 Flicker Drive, Paris Mountain Greenville, SC 29609-6644 Phone: 864-907-4000 ~ Fax: 864-244-5685 Email: wewii@bellsouth.net Website: www.oocities.org/hmrl261 We have had many requests to hold a Reunion at MCAS New River, NC to celebrate the standing down of 261 after (57) fifty-seven years of service; and to have another reunion somewhere different. The majority of the personnel who attended the April Reunion at Quantico, VA chose Nashville, TN out of (7) seven locations that were voted on. The date for the Reunion at MCAS New River is not known yet, however we were told that the squadron expects to stand down in late winter or early spring of 2008 (Jan/Feb or March/early April) upon their return from deployment. So that everyone may have the opportunity to attend both Reunions, the Reunion in Nashville, TN will take place in the Spring of 2009. The consensus of the Reunion attendees in April was to have another Reunion somewhere were we can all have fun. “We want to enjoy our relationships with remaining squadron members while we are still in good enough health to enjoy them!” “We are not getting any younger, so let’s make it happen sooner than later!” George Bruner and I will be working closely together to ensure both Reunions are successful and memorable occasions for all that attend. Watch your mail box and email for updates on the upcoming Reunion details. We do not have everyone’s Email or mailing addresses. Please tell your buddies and let George and I know of any address changes in either email or home mailing addresses. I have been asked to design a golf shirt with the HMR (L) 261 logo on it. (Like Above) The shirt will feature a design like the patch. It will to be (2”) two inches in diameter and will be placed over the left breast. The color choices for the shirts will be: White, Red, Navy Blue, Black and Green. There is a possibility that I may be able to put this logo on hats also. I will let you know when we get it together. I don’t know the cost yet, but the price will be $2.50 over our actual cost with the proceeds going towards reunion expenses. Also as tribute to the 50’s Bulls, the squadron elected to go with the below patch for their upcoming deployment. I will try to get some of these patches for anyone who may want one.
