The Beetle in Italy is called "Maggiolino" or "Maggiolone" and has been a best seller of the german Volkswagen. Surely it is not a race car and, except for Herbie and the Baja's, I have not seen racing it... ...but I have a lot of scavenged Tyco Formula 1, so called "slim", chassis with heavily damaged bodies or no bodies at all. To be ernest this was the spark that ignited this project !! The real Beetle has smaller tyres but the standard Tyco tyres give them a "hot rod" look !!    I cast racing bodies for racing use; they are detailed but are made for racers more than for collectors. These bodies are hand casted so they are not perfect, usually small air's bobbles are trapped in the mould and it require a little extra work with putty and files to have a very good body. Once filled with putty these little holes are invisible. This Volkswagen body requires a Tyco 440X2 slim chassis and, though mounting a non tyco body on it is a nightmare, these VW Beetles are still snap on !!
