| Burning Head, lit on fire, Fueling it are my desires, Thoughts and feelings. From the heat my senses reeling. A thousand thoughts flickering in my head, Like the light my fire spreads. Shadows cast, clouding things, Like the darkness fire brings. Memories so like the flame, Deep in my head they remain. The memories so real to me, But my thoughts you cannot see. Away from the fire we will not meet, But for those close, feel the heat. It will not be until I’m dead, That you can extinguish my Burning Head. This poem was the one and only one I've ever had published. It is all about me and how I feel about those things that are personal to me. But, the funny thing is, this poem was an accident. A friend was looking over my shoulder as I was writing a poem called Broken Hearted (now Color of Love), and he thought it said Burning Head. So I showed him his mistake, but then told him I would write one with that title. Turned out pretty good. |
