I'm crazy. Crazy and random. Hence the nicknames.

>An explanation.<
One day I was playing Literati with various and wonderful people. Wonderful people, that is, except for one: Cliff Chang. Cliff had a solid lead in the game -- certainly no one was going to catch up with him. So when there upon the game board appeared a wonderful spot in which to play a letter -- a spot nearly as wonderful as the people with whom I was playing Literati -- a spot which, when properly played upon, the word "GONG" would appear on the board -- I kindly asked Cliff to play there and create a GONGed Literati board. GONGed Literati is truly the only way to go when playing Literati.

At any rate, the perfidious one soon to be known as "Nongonger" agreed. "Sure," he said. "I'll play there next turn." The wonderful people who were playing Literati were satisfied.

Alack, what fools were we! What decieved, miserable, wretched ones! For when the moment of truth arose, what GONG was there? Why hadn't it been played? What treachery was this? The strife, the grief, the plain unmitigated gall of his deception -- unimaginable! Unbearable! I would not wish it upon any other.

But like a phoenix from the ashes of betrayal a new hope arose. In my disbelief, I did the only thing I knew to do: I made an away message. I labeled the Literati infidel as Cliff "Nongonger" Chang. Almost without thinking, I tacked an offer to make nicknames for others at the end of the away message. Thus, a tradition was born from tragedy.

Since the "Nongonging Incident," I've created a bunch of nicknames. Here, now, for the first time ever, my entire collection of nicknames will be gathered in one spot. Peruse the archives. Enjoy. And please, if you would like a nickname, do not hesitate to ask me to make you one. Keep in mind, however, that nickname crafting is a delicate, meticulous process, and it can take me upwards of 48 hours to create a single nickname worthy of my high standards. I do have a waiting list, but I won't necessarily go in any set order, as inspiration stikes without rhyme or reason.

And what I mean by that is that if I drag my feet on making you a nickname, it's obviously because I hate* you.

>A note on the origin of nicknames.<
1) A nickname must be entirely original. That is to say, it's no good if the nickname has ever been used before for a person. So if your name is Nick Poulos, I'm not going to give you a nickname like "Nicko D." I'm going to give you a name like "NăHTăJū."
2) As a result of the above reasoning, I stray away from punning with names. I'm all for puns, no doubt about it, but since puns are such a common source for nicknames, they run the risk of having been thought up before.
3) If a nickname seems like it has absolutely no relevance to a person whatsoever, you need to think harder. There is always a very subtle connection that only the most brilliant of humans will be able to deduce. Are you brilliant?
4) If a nickname seems like it has a terrifically obvious relevance to a person, look deeper. An obvious initial connection always belies something far below the surface -- something that is deeper, darker, and far more menacing. Are you menacing?
5) A nickname must sound good to me. It needs to be aesthetically pleasing. If it is not, I want nothing to do with it.

If you want a nickname change, or another nickname, e-mail or IM me. I'll consider it.
