Bill the pony was owned by the hobbits in the journey, but mostly Samwise Gamgee's
Bill the pony was previously owned by Bill Ferny, who sold him to the hobbits, as Barliman Butterbut paid for him because Merry lost all of his ponies in Bree. Bill Ferny didn't care for Bill, as he didn't look after him very well nor feed him much. On the journey of the Fellowship, Samwise Gamgee developed a love for the little pony, and the pony started to get better, with all the care he gets from Samwise. Bill the pony was mostly used for carrying in the packs and bags belonging to the hobbits on the journey. Bill came all the way to Moria, where he was let go, and followed his way back home, as they had reached the Mines of Moria. Samwise Gamgee rode Bill to the the Grey Havens to say goodbye to Frodo when Frodo left. Bill the pony is played by a pony named Rastus Rastus was up for sale (Sorry I lost the add) (Quarter horse X Shetland mix)
