Horse: Shadowfax

Shadowfax was the horse of Gandalf, given to him by King Theoden, as  a gift from freeing Theoden from Saruman's spell and Theoden offered Gandalf a gift, and Gandalf asked for Shadowfax. Lord and Cheif of the Mearas, Lord of the horses. Shadowfax was not rideable by the other riders in Rohan. Only Gandalf was able to but it took three days for him to get Shadowfax agreed to the idea of having him on his back. Gandalf was not able to have a bridle or saddle on this horse. In the battle of Helm's Deep, Gandalf had to ride Shadowfax to find Eomer and his group, though they were two thousand legues from Helm's Deep, and finding the Rohan Riders. Gandalf rode Shadowfax also in the War of the Ring, and in the Return of the King. Later, he boarded onto the boat to the Grey Havens, bringing Shadowfax with him. *Played by Demero, 16 year old andalusian stallion, died in July of 2003 * Also played by a thoroughbred gelding.
