Chapter10 Justin: mom why did you let Jon go with that girl Lynn: Justin because he was heart broken because she was hurt Justin: so you let him go with a stranger Lynn: you don’t get it Justin, she is a close friend of the family and we live not even a minute away from each other. Now come on I have to get some clothes for her Justin: why do I have to come Lynn:  because you do and the guys can get home later. Oh yeah JC, Megan reminded me to tell you to call her cell tonight ok JC: sure thing and send her my get well Lynn: sure thing bye boys They said bye and they left. Lynn got into Megan’s hotel room and started to find something for Megan to wear. She picked out Olympic wear pants and a shirt. They were about to go when Justin piped up. Justin: mom why does she have a picture of me and Megan hugging after one of our missions. Is this girl a friend of Megan’s? Lynn: Justin you can’t get it through your dyed hair that Megan Quann is the exact same girl from Road Rules Justin: no way Lynn: don’t you contradict me Justin because that’s her Justin: I know my Megan and that’s not her Lynn: Justin here this is that picture and this is her a couple of months ago Justin: but… Lynn: look at her features they are the same from that one. Justin she has grown up to be one of the most prettiest girls I ever known and now something like this happened and she needs me so we need to get to her Mean while at the Hospital Nurse: I’m sorry the little boy has to stay out side, here come with me Jon: (screaming) Megan I don’t want to lose you Megan: excuse me but while you are doing whatever your going to keep that little boy in here and I don’t care, he’s afraid to lose me because I look like this and you aren’t going to do that to me. Doctor: he can stay, what’s with your hair Megan: I know this you might not know but I am Megan Quann coming straight from the Olympics and about to win at least 3 gold medals Nurse: oh my gosh your Megan. Megan: yes I am and I really respect all the stuff your doing to me but my neck and back are fine its my knee Doctor Candice: (walking in) I’m sorry Miss. (looking at the chart) Quann but we don’t want you to have damage to your neck or whatever, so we are going to have some x-rays done and then you can play with this little cute boy and you can go to your award ceremony Megan: thank you I very much appreciate you trying Candice: no problem and its probably just a break and we need to put a straight removal knee cast on for your comfort but you have to use crutches and you should be able to get back in the water in 6 months Megan: your one of the nicest doctors I met are you from this place Candice: oh no I work at a hospital in Memphis but they said they might need me down here so I came Megan: well thank you Candice: so does this little cute boy have a name Jon: (being shy) I’m Jon Candice: well Jon it’s nice to meet you and your sister will be just fine, do you want something to eat. How about a candy bar Megan: I’m not his sister Candice: I’m sorry, who does he belong to Megan: he belongs to my second mom. Candice: well she must be really proud of him, I’ll be right back, I’ll get you a candy bar and go talk to your family Megan: thanks Candice: your welcome  The doctor went into the waiting room and talked to her family and friends. While that was happening Megan was relaxing comfortably sleeping in the ER She woke up to something. Justin and Lynn were about 100 feet from the room Megan: (screaming) what are you doing Man: I’m cutting your bathing suit off, we need it off Megan: no way in hell will you cut this off and anyway this is 5 of a kind bathing suit and this is my memory of the Olympic so get you hands off me Man: no Justin heard this and walked in Justin: you get off of her Man: and who are you, her pretty boyfriend Justin: no, I’m a friend and I want you to get your hands off of her this instance Man: what are you going to do Justin: now! Man: how about this little boy, (holding a knife in the middle of his head) Megan: please leave them alone Lynn saw this and she dropped Megan’s clothes and ran and got security Megan: please no Just then he pulled out a gun Man: if you don’t shut- up you’ll have a mouth full of these The officers came and they saw what’s happening. They shot the guy but before he fell to the ground her fired his gun. Justin grabbed Megan and pulled her off the bed and they were now on top of each other. Megan in much pain and same as Justin because the bullet grazed Justin’s skin Megan: thank you, are you all right Justin: I’m fine, it just grazed my skin Megan: well here let me get that for you Megan put an cleaner on Justin’s skin to disinfect the womb Justin: ouch that hurts Megan: if I don’t do this its going to get infected Justin: how would you know how to do this Megan: you don’t know lots about me do you. Well Jen is a doctor back home and I came in to help her and she taught me a few things and I know what I’m doing Justin: fine whatever It only needed 5 stitches so Megan put them in there perfectly. Then she was about to bandage it when the doctor came in Doctor: what do you think you’re doing, I’m going to get in trouble for this DR. Candice: what are you doing Megan Megan: I’m just fixing his arm Candice: how’d you know how to do that Megan: well I’ve worked at a few hospitals early this year and last. Candice: those stitches are perfect, you can wrap it up now Megan: thanks and that’s what I was going to do Candice: you miss need to get back into that bed and rest your leg. Megan: I will all most done.  Candice: here Jon you can come out of the corner now Jon: is he still out there Candice: no he’s gone, we’ll never hurt you Jon: thank you The doctor got back the x-rays from Megan’s knee. Candice: Megan I got the x-rays back Megan: what did they say Candice: (pointing the x-ray in the air and showing Megan it) it says that you have 2 stress fractures right here and here, and you busted your knee cap, and you see right here that’s where you broke your knee Megan: so what am I going to do Candice: you’ll have crutches for at least 3 months, it depends on how fast your knee heels. Then you’ll go to therapy for a month or so and hopefully after all that, that you’ll be able to swim and all. You really shouldn’t go out for the Olympics unless your therapy doctors say you should because usually after knee injuries much like this one, a swimmer or a gymnast doesn’t go for competitiveness Justin: excuse me, but can both of you talk in English please, what’s wrong with Megan’s knee Candice: she broke it right here, and the stress fractures are right here Justin: what’s a stress fracture Megan: it’s a fracture from the stress you put on it Justin: oh ok; now you’re on the same level as me now Candice: I’ll release you in a few minutes ok Megan: sounds good to me. Megan laid on the uncomfortable bed for about 10 minutes when here family came in Candice: I usually recommend that you use a wheel chair for the first 2 weeks but I want you to use it now and when ever you feel in pain and to sit down. But for stuff like tonight you can use your crutches, you can see me back at the hospital in Memphis. Have a great time Megan Megan: thanks With that Megan left with her family that was there. So it happened that Justin and Megan and Jon ended up in the same car. When Megan’s cell phone went off. It was JC. She told him that she was fine and that she will be back in a about a half-hour. Then later they finally pulled up to the arena again. They were a little late because they had just given out the men’s medals. Megan had to get where she was told to get for the ceremony. Then it was time for the medals. Camie was first and she got 1 gold, and 2 silver. Mia got 2 golds. Heather got 1 of each. Kelly got 2 silver and 2 gold. Then it was Megan’s turn. Announcer: Now for the final athlete swimmer from the USA. Its Megan Quann, which she has worked greatly to get in her spot. She had received 4 awards today and after her accident earlier she is now back to receive her 4 gold medals The crowd went wild because Megan very much deserved it. Holly helped Megan onto the stage where the rest of her friends were. She got her medals and was very happy, at that moment. About a half-hour later she got to talk to the guys and her friends from road rules, they were all invited to a after party to celebrate US team winning their medals. JC danced with Megan several times and so did Justin. Around 11 Megan really needed to take a rest because her leg was killing her. She went outside the room on the hotel bench. It was very comfortable and Megan soon fell asleep. Around 2 hours later the party was over and everyone was looking for Megan. JC and Justin found her on the bench. Justin: we should really move her JC: ok sounds good to me Justin picked her up very carefully to not disturb her slumber. JC got her bad leg. On the way up. JC; you really like her a lot don’t you Justin: yeah I do, she just had all her charisma and everything JC: well I like her but I only want a great friendship out of this and I know you like her so she is all yours because I don’t want to interfere with you and her Justin: thanks that mean a lot to me JC: well anything for my best bud. They got into her room and laid her down and covered her up and were about to leave. Megan: you guys JC: did we wake you Megan: no but I want you to know that I leave tomorrow and all Justin: no problem Sweetie we’re leaving with you because we are going back to my house Megan: thanks JC: no problem, sweet dreams Justin: congratulations girl and get some sleep Megan: I will and thanks, bye
