Chapter 2 Meanwhile down stairs Lance: hey why is Megan really living with you JC: because I asked her to Lance: besides that JC: you guys want the real reason Justin: yes JC: ok but you can’t tell anyone about this, well 10 months ago Megan’s parents were in a horrible car crash and they died, leaving 16 year old Megan in charge of her 5 day old brother. She had long hard days. Her brother always woke her up and then she dropped Connor off at my mom’s and then went to school, after school she worked part time at Taco Bell and then came home and picked up Connor, after that she would do all her homework and study and do the same thing everyday besides weekends, she worked full time at 6-flags, she was way over stressed trying to buy stuff for her young brother and I was getting ready to move down to Florida so I asked her and she said yes. She still goes to school and on Fridays she doesn’t. On the weekends she works for Tommy. Chris: Oh my gosh Lance: I knew there was something but not that bad JC: well then I took custody of Megan and Connor because Megan wasn’t legal yet and when Megan turns 18 she is going to get custody of her brother. Joey: you never told us. JC: well I don’t like talking about this and it was sad that her parents died and I knew them well and all so I don’t like talking about it. Justin: sorry JC: that’s ok, Justin did you ask Megan out Justin: yea JC: what did she say Justin: no They talked for a little more and then went to bed. They all spent the night. Around 2:00 Connor started crying. Megan got up and went to Connor’s room. He was crying and wouldn’t stop. She took him down stairs and when she finally got him to stop crying she fell asleep on the couch with Connor sleeping peacefully. Around 8:30 the phone rang and JC picked it up. It was Megan’s boss and he wanted to tell Megan that she didn’t have to come in today. JC walked to Megan’s room to tell her but she wasn’t in there, then her went to Connor’s room and he or Megan wasn’t in there. Then he decided to go downstairs and there she was sleeping peaceful on the couch and Connor trying to get up to play. Connor was really smart and could say a few words and walk. Connor thought that JC was his dad but he knew his real dad had died. Connor: daddy JC: shh, Connor your sister is sleeping Connor: ok, can I go play with my toy truck JC: sure, hold on JC got Connor out of Megan’s hands, Justin was at the top of the stairs and ways seeing how much Megan meant to JC. He walked down the stairs to get something to eat. Everyone was up except for Megan that was sleeping on the couch. They were all talking in the kitchen Justin: JC doesn’t Megan have to go to work JC: no, Tommy called and said that she didn’t have to go to work. Lance: what are you doing today JC JC: what time is it Chris: it’s 8:30 why JC: shit, shit, I’m going to be late Joey: Late for what JC: meeting Justin: what meeting JC: the social services meeting Justin: why do you have to go there They were all running up the stairs while JC was putting on his black pants and a nice shirt and a tie JC: I have to go there because they want to check up on Megan and Connor because I am always on tour and we do this every year after Megan’s birthday. Lance: oh JC: can you keep an eye on Connor and when Megan wakes up tell Megan where I am and that she doesn’t have to go to work Justin: ok JC you better go.  JC: bye Around a half-hour later Justin and Lance were talking in the living room Megan: oh hey Lance: hey sleeping beauty Megan: what time is it Justin: its all most 9:00 why Megan: oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, I am going to be real late Justin: calm down Megan, JC said that your boss called and said that you didn’t have to go in today and JC is at that social service meeting Megan: where’s Connor Lance: he’s in the back yard with Joey Megan: did you feed him Justin: no he didn’t seem hungry Megan: was he rubbing his tummy Lance: yeah why Megan: I can’t trust any of you, it means he’s hungry Megan got him fed and dressed today in a baby blue NC basketball top and blue shorts. Then she grabbed Connor and went downstairs to answer the door
