Chapter 6

"Are you excited about tonight?" he asked.
"I can't wait, yet I don't want it to come." Sam said.
"Are we just a tad bit confused?"

"JUSTIN," Bri called. "Where are you?"
"In here," Justin yelled from Sam's room, interrupting the story he was telling Sam.
"Get out here," Bri told him.
"Hold on." He turned back to face the door." Where was I?"
"The part where the guy comes up to Lance," Sam replied.
"Oh yeah, well this buff body builder type with I don't know how many tattoos comes up to Lance,"
Justin said, His little blonde girlfriend, who could have popped from the pages of a prono mag is right
behind him..."

By the time he finished, Sam was near tears, she was laughing so hard.
"Justin, What are you doing to her?" Sarah asked, coming in the room.
"I just told her a story," Justin said. Everyone else followed Sarah.
"And God,  did he screw it up," Sam said. " The way he told it with all of his mistakes, made it even
funnier."
"I didn't mess it up that badly," Justin exclaimed.
"Yeah, you did Justin. You had to stop four times to clear your head and make sure you were telling
it right."
    "Did not."
    "Did too."
"Not, I didn't stop four times."
    "Yes, you did."
"Not, Not, Not, Not, Not, Not."
"Too, Too, Too, Too, Too.  You did too."
    "Did not."
"Both of you shut up," Sarah said, " You sound like little kids or something."
"Why haven't you kicked Justin out yet?" JC asked Sarah.
"He isn't hurting anything," Sarah said.
"No, but you normally would have kicked him out." JC said. "If it was me sitting on the bed, you
would have kicked me out long ago."
"Yeah, because it would have been you," Sarah replied.
    "What does that mean?"
"Sarah, you say anything else," Sam warned, "and I disown you. Everyone out, because I need to
leave."
"What's going on here?" JC demanded. "Why are Sarah and Bri acting so pissed off at me, and
Sam, why didn't you tell me some jerk hurt you?"
"Everyone out," Sam said, ignoring JC's questions. "And someone, close the bathroom door."
Justin pulled the bathroom door closed, then followed everyone out to the living room.
"Will someone please tell me what's going on?" JC asked.
"Sorry, JC, we can't," Sarah said. "Sam might, one day, although that's highly unlikely and if it does
happen, it won't be in the near future."
    "Why?"
"Because JC, it's too painful for her to talk about," Bri said.  "And because she believes it will ruin
the plans of the person involved in the secret."
Sam walked out of her room then, in shorts and a tank top.  "I'm leaving for the salon.  I"ll see all of
you later tonight. Have fun." She sailed through the door.
    "Hey, Sami," Sarah called.
Sam, halfway down the stairs, stopped, turned around and walked back up the stairs.  "Do not call
me Sami. It's Sam, or Samantha.  What do you want?"
"Where are we going to meet you,"  Sarah  smiled sweet and innocent, "Samantha Rose?"
"Don't use my middle name.  By the goal post or by the stage.  I'm not sure. " Sam headed back
down the stairs.
    "Bye, Sami," Sarah called.
    Sam scowled.

Destiny and Lillian were just pulling up in front of the salon when Sam arrived. They were ten
minutes early.
"Only three hours to go," Lillian said as they walked in the salon. "Excited?"
"Hell, yeah." Destiny said. "But scared, also. I'ts like just last night week when we started our senior
year."
"And just a few months ago, we started high school," Sam said,  "I remember, back when we were
Freshmen, we never thought this day would come.  But here it is. And I'm not entirely sure if I wan it to
be here."
"I know," Lillian said. "I'm glad we're finally graduating, but I'm sad. There are so many things I
should have done, should have said; things I wish I could change.  But, at the same time I don't think I
would change anything about the past four years."
"I think there's one thing  about my life I would change," Sam said. "Maybe. I'm not sure. But other
then that, I don't think I'd change nything else."
"I'm not sure if I'd change anything." Destiny said. "I don't think so. " She shuddered. "Maybe the
fact that I didn't listen to my parents whent hey said how hard life would be and that I should take
every advantage out of being a teenager."
Sam laughed. "Here we are, talking about changing our lives, and how hard lif is going to be. We
sound like nursing home relics.  And we haven't even experienced life outside of school, haven't seen
the real world. I wonder what we're going to sound like at our reunioun?"
Destiny and Lillian laughed. "Like we shoul be dead,"  Lillian said.
"That's something to look forward to," Sam said.
All the girls started laughing.  They couldn't talk anylonger, because of their appointments.

Sam was the last one done.  The stylist couldn't decide how to do her hair, and tried different styles
before deciding on a french twist, with tendrils framing her face.  Once they were done, the girls drove
back to Destiny's to change and go back to school.  Destiny was wearing  dress pants, and boots;
Lillian was wearing a long dress with sandales. They weren't as crazy as Sam, who was wearing twh
and a half inch high heels. Neither of them wanted to kill themselves while walking around Disneyland.
They left for the school at six, going in Sam's car.  Graduation began at seven. The day was cold,
the wind was blowing.   It was typical graduation day.  And it was boring; the speeches were long and
unexciting.  Fireworks went off once all the graduates were back in their seats; the crowd spilled out
on the field, as friends and family tried to find the person they were looking for.  Cameras' were going
off everywhere as people tried to get pictures to put in photo albums.

Sam, Destiny, and Lillian were posing for Destiny's father when Sarah, Bri and the guys found her.
They all hugged her once he was done, and Sarah, a prfessional photographer, took some pictures.
"I need to go find someone," Sam said, after a few minutes.  "I'll see you guys tomorrow." she turned
and started to walk away.
